Can't get 2 player on NASCAR unleashed

After conpleting the first championship tutorial and unlocking two player when I try to go pick a driver Irvine says in the top right player 2 press A for co op when I press A nothing happens , I tried the remote with another game and it works so I don't understand why it isn't here.

Yeah not sure there sorry. It should be available after you have completed the First Championship, as detailed below:

After you have completed the championship, 2 player mode should be unlocked. Try looking on the driver select screen in the top right to connect second player as a CO-OP.
