Surly you've noticed by now that the drill will go through periods of sucking and drilling. Simply keep one or two of the space pirates alive until the machine starts to suck. Then start shooting at one of the pirates until he looses his grip and gets sucked into the machine. Now 4 orange cone things will come out of the machine; shoot and destroy one of them. Repeat.

What you need to do is keep one of the space pirates alive and when the drill changes color to purple run to the wall and turn around and keep on shooting the pirate and he will evuantally get sucked up in the drill and then 4 panels will appear on the drill and destroy 1 of the panels and repeat the process 3 more time (this is a easy boss fight)an easy way to destroy 2 space pirates is to go into Hyper Mode and kill 2 of them and exit out of Hyper Mode to preserve engery. Trust me this method works I have the Strategey guide for this game and that is what they say to do. Hope I Helped.

Defeat all but one enemy and then when the laser turns purple shoot your plasma beam (or hyper mode beam) at one thats hanging onto the floor and it'll be sucked up. Four holograms will appear shoot down one (to conserve health not in hyper mode because it only takes two or three shots.) then repeat until all four are destroyed and you've then earned yourself the nova beam. A high frequency that can shoot through objects made of phazite. Also if you see an enemy go to the X-ray visor lock on and you'll see there weak points shoot it and they'll die. Or you'll just see how far away they are.

Yeah just keep one pirate alive so when it starts sucking shoot the pirate untill it goes up and in. Then the machine will malfunktion.
