I have not heard of a Metroid Prime 4 coming out, and I think someone told you that they thought there would be one coming out, but right now it's not in the making, so it's still just a rumor. There might not even be a Metroid Prime 4 coming out at all. I think you shouldn't listen to people who don't know what they're talking about. Hope I Helped

You are correct. The game was announced at E3. However, it doesn't appear to be part of Metroid Prime, so it's not #4.

Metroid Prime 3 is technically the Fourth in the Prime Series because the events of Metroid Prime Hunters take place directly after Metroid Prime 1.

You are tecnicly correct, just that the game takes place after metroid prime and just before the events of metroid fusion.
