How do I do special atacks in Dream Table tennis. I tried to do it but it never works.

When you have charged up your power bar(bottom left corner),you press both A and B at the same time when the ball comes close.
When the ball is close, press a and b at the same time. You don't have to swing.
Maybe you have to swing a certain way or press the B or A Button at a certain time?? I've never played Dream Table Tennis before, but I also suggest you read the instructions on how to play before you start to see if you can actually do those, I know Dream Events are different because Dream Racing is practically MarioKart on foot.
