Question for Mario Kart Wii

Just started playing wii mario cart. How do you unlock new race tracks - currently just showing ? I have four question marks.

Please help.

What you do is start with 50cc and play the mushroom cup and beat all four levels in 1st or three levels in 1st, Then do the flower cup and beat 4 times in 1st or 3 times in 1st and then you unlock the next place.
Then do the same with the other.
