For the first gear, you'd have to carry the cannon item with you and reach the barrage before the item loses power. If it does, hold onto it and throw the leftovers at the metal and the leftovers should explode. For the third gear, defeat Gigant Edge and gain the sword ability. Cut the rope that holds the metal block up by standing on the ledge next to the closure and attacking.
