how to unlock varan

I've been trying to unlock I go as an alien on the mothership stage but the only crystals I see are the green ones and when I destroy them nothing happens. I walk around and can't find any more crystals..please help.

I think the crystals you are looking for should be stuck on the walls on the mothership. I think they are a purple color. To destroy them, shoot them with you're monster's beam weapon.

You Also have to be a monster from the Alain Faction.

You have to be an earth defender to do it and shoot the engines with Godzilla's fire breath.
