To get pass the Boss in world one you need to attack from behind, be careful at times he will "explode" with sonic waves and do you in if you are not on the other side of the ring away from him when he explodes. While he is bouncing (if you time it right) you can walk under him and then attack. Watch out for the horns that appear on his backside only jump if the horns are not there.
