Stuck in Act 3

Hi, I am stuck on act 3, I am not for sure of the title. I am a sniper and it's just me and one other guy. We are crawling through this field and all of a sudden like 5 tanks and 50 enemy soldiers pop up over the ridge. The enemy find up laying in the field and shoot us down. Then a screen pops up to and says, "Your actions caused your Captain to be killed." I don't know what I am doing wrong or what I am missing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, I hate this part, but I know a great place where they can't find you. You will start before they come, and see those trees on the left? Go to them and lay down inbetween them. There should be five trees, go to trees two and three and lay down in the space in between them and stay there. You rarely ever get caught. If you do, you are sticking out too far from the space. Do move over if you feel you are too close to the soldiers that pass by.

Okay, I don't know if it's true, if you go all the way to the right you will be in the clear but watch out after that you have to kill like a kazzilion people in a broken-down-car lot and they are kinda easy but you have to guard your corners or they'll get you
