Yes it took me a while also to figure out what they ment by the answer...but when the catwalk blows, then sprint, and jump....now that I know, piece of cake.

If no one has told you the answer to your question or havent figured it out yet, look at your controls menu and figure out which button makes you jump, get close to the edge and jump and hold till you clear it. It took me forever to figure it out too. I feel you're pain.
