What should I be doing with gyroids?

What should I be doing with gyroids? Why does Brewster store them for me? Should I try to collect as many as I can? What's the ultimate purpose of the gyroids?

They are just there to give you a quick buck, spice up your home, give you more HRA credits, or just spare junk laying around your neighborhood. They are just there, to be there, and make the game a little bit more interesting. I just sell them, it's nice to look at them in the NO BUY catalog XD

They also make noises and when you collect all of a certain group, they are supposed to play a tune.
