When you complete the following tasks in Konquest mode you will receive the corresponding piece of armour.

Unlock Chestplate:

Defeat Sub-Zero in the Lin Kuei Palace.

Unlock Gauntlets:

These can be found in the Netherrealm in the area when you jump down after the fiery meteor falls from the sky.
