Boost After Jumps

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

Many people know this, but then again, many people don't. You can get a small speed boost after Jumps with boosts on the edge. You can pull back the steering wheel, like how you do a wheelie, as you start to jump. You will hear a ping and your character will do a trick, no matter the vehicle or person. Then after you land, you will get a small speed boost.

Hope I helped,

3 Shortcuts

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

MAPLE TREEWAY
When you start, don't get a speed boost. Turn right and you'll see an opening in the fence. Follow the path of speed boosts and you'll end up right at the cannon.

MUSHROOM GORGE (MUSHROOM REQUIRED)
At the start stay to the left, use the mushroom, and go off the edge. You'll bounce on two mushrooms and over a wooden fence.

COCONUT MALL (MUSHROOM RECOMMENDED)
At the start of the race, go up the escalator. Stay to the right and don't go down the escalator. There'll be a little opening at the right. Use the mushroom and you'll go through thestore and off the edge.

Hate Being POW'd? Here's a Tip!

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

I'm sure everyone hates being POW'd in Mario Kart Wii, but I discovered that if you shake your Wii remote when smacked by the POW, you'll cancel out the worst part of the effect (spinning on the ground) and do a 360 in air and start driving again! Of course if you haven't learned it already, you can also use jumps to your advantage, half pipe jumps are probably the most handy in this case, when you see that POW block above your head and you're not using it, but you're near a half pipe jump, attempt to get to it and jump before that POW takes effect to save your items (yes, shaking the Wii remote when you get hit by the POW will not save your items, but it can save your position).

Hope this helps you non-pro Kart racers!

Toad's Factory Shortcut.

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

This is one of the hardest to pull of in the game, but if done right it saves heaps of time. Firstly, make your way through the course as usual, until the big jump after the conveyor belts. Trick of the large jump, and kind of go to the right of screen (only slightly.) Now this is the hard part, drive towards the right of the first jump, and use your mushroom whilst turning left, also trick off the jump. If you turned sharp enough, and hit the right part of the jump, then you should end up seeing yourself soaring over the lake, and landing just before the zoom pad. This is yet another shortcut that takes endless practice, so don't be disheartened just by a few failed attempts, for extra help see the world record of Toad's Factory.

Luigi Circuit Shortcuts.

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

These are the two Luigi Circuit shortcuts that I know of, and how to pull them off:

1. The beginner shortcut which is very simple and incredibly easy shortcut to pull off. Firstly, you will need a mushroom, then when driving down the first straight road on the course (after the second turn) down the left side you will notice a jump among the sand. To use this jump, the simply use your mushroom to cut across the sand, then trick off the jump and return to the race track.

2. The expert shortcut, amazingly tricky and hard to time, one of the hardest on MKW. Now driving down the straight road again, ignore the jump and keep driving forward. Now you'll notice this sand pit with green pipes in there. Now when a reasonable distance away from the pipe, start drifting towards the pipe closest to you. Now right before your hitting the sand, release the drift, but then automatically start to drift again, this part is extremely hard to time, but if you did it right, then you would have boosted then bunny hopped slightly into the air and made slight distance into the sand pit. Right before landing on the sand, release a single mushroom. This should give you enough speed to send you across the sand and right back onto the normal track. This will take so much extra practice to pull it off, if having troubles then look at the WorldRecord.

Item Tips: Mushrooms.

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

Here are some of my best tips to use when you have any kind of mushroom item.

Tip 1: If you have a triple mushroom item, than don't instantly use all three, wait for the previous boost to finish and then use the next mushroom.

Tip 2: If you have a Golden Mushroom item, then try to press the item trigger repetitively as fast as possible as it is a time limit, not amount of uses limit.

Tip 3: If going around a sharp turn, then I suggest that you do not use your mushroom, as it could send you into a wall, or off an edge.

Tip 4: If possible, occasionally try and save your mushroom to pull off a nearby shortcut, but don't keep it for too long or else you risk losing it to an item such as lightning.

Tip 5: Whilst holding a mushroom item, if an item like pow appears on the screen, then try to use your mushroom before you are powed, or else you would just end up losing it anyway.

Descriptions of Lightweight, Heavyweight, and Middleweight char

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

Lightweight characters: More Acceleration, Little Control

Middleweight: Medium Acceleration, Medium Control

Heavyweight: Less Acceleration, More control

Considering these factors the best choice would probably be Middleweight or Lightweight. I will elaborate: Speed is one of the things NECESSARY to winning, and while control is nice, a skilled Mario Kart player will have no problem. If you know the coursees the less of a chance that you will lose control. As you can see, Heavyweight would be a good choice for beginners, but later on, you will need to switch to Middleweight or Lightweight.

Item Throwing

Unrated

Bogus Report:

Whenever you get an item where you can throw something, you don't necessarily have to throw it in the direction it makes you throw it in. If you press up on the control pad (when you have a WiiWheel) you can throw a banana peel forwards, instead of backwards. If you press down on the control pad (when you have a WiiWheel) you can throw a Shell, or a Bomb-omb backwards instead of forwards. Hope the Hint helps!

Item Tips: Shells.

Unrated

Bogus Report:

Here are some good tips too use to maximize good item use of shells.

1. When having the triple red shell item, do not fire all three at once, as It is most likely that only one shell will take effect on the oppenent.

2. If in first place, and you get a red or green shell, do not fire it forward as there is a chance it could hit a wall and hit you. This is also the same with blue shells as they will just hit you.

3. When driving down a straight road, press the look behind button (A on a wii wheel) to help your aim.

Extra speed Tips

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

Here some ways to get better speed during the game.

Start Boost: At the start of the race, when 2 appears on the screen, hold the accelerate button to receive a boost.

Recovery Boost: If you have fallen of an edge, once you have been picked up by Lakitu, then hold accelerate right as your wheels touch the ground for a recovery boost.

On the Spot Drift: If you have been hit by a blue shell, star, bullet bill etc. Then you would want to use an on the spot drift. To do so, hold accelerate and the drift button at the same time, do this until you get a blue flame. Then let go of drift and you should be back to normal speed. Note that this should only be used with vehicles that have bad acceleration or else you'll waste time, And this can only be done with a vehicle on manual.

The Mono Tactic: This is used whenever riding a bike. All you have to do is mono as much as possible during a race. When going around a corner, turn as you usually would and then when back on straight road then mono again, overall this tactic saves you lots of time in races.

Hope I Helped- goal machine.

Shy Guy Beach and Sherbet Land Time Trials.

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

In time trials, when doing Shy Guy Beach and Sherbet Land it is preferable too use Toadette and the Magikruiser. The reason for this is the fact that it is the highest off-road ability combination. You want off road for Shy Guy Beach too drive through the shallow waters, this will save time if you cut across many corners with the shallow waters. On Sherbet Land, surprisingly enough ice counts as off-road therefore, you can just save time by driving.

Best Items

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

In different positions, you will receive different items. They get better the farther you are back, because then you need more help. Here are the best items to look for in each position:

First: triple banana. It defends you from attacks from behind, without you having to hold it equipped the whole time. You can also equip it and store an extra item.

Toward the front: triple red shell. Here you want to be able to slow up opponents in front of you accurately, and there's only a few. Red shells never let you down! (Except around corners or off edges!)

In the middle: pow block or triple turbo. Pow block makes almost everyone in front of you spin out (if they're computers anyway), allowing you to make up some serious places if it's a close pack. Triple turbos do the same, just be sure to use them wisely (not on windy areas, etc.).

Towards the back: golden mushroom or lightning. Golden mushroom - find a straighaway, and milk it for all it's worth! Lightning will let you catch up quite a ways, and it also affects the people in front the longest, tightening up the pack.

Last: Bullet Bill. Sit back and enjoy the ride, or use what little steering ability you have to run over the people you pass!

Aim Backwards

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

If you have an item that can be thrown or placed backwards, and an opponent close on your tail, press the A button to look backwards so you can aim properly! This works really well if you have two green shells (one equipped) and are in first place - fire one, then equip the other to defend yourself.

But be careful! Obviously when you are looking backward, you can't see in front of you to watch the track...best to use this only in straight areas!

WFC tips

When playing on WFC, make sure your Internet connection is stable! I have lost many hard-earned points from being placed last in a race because my Internet went out.

Also, play with a (good) partner to increase your points - they can help attack players better than you so you can beat them and get a higer ranking! Or have them drive in the place right behind you with a banana or shell equipped. Then they can act as a shield for you from any items thrown at you from behind.

A Really Cool Glinch

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

Ok I found this glinch out by myself. First off you have to have a cart and be in 100cc or above. Next go to DK montian or the snow version of it. Now when you reach any point were you hit a boost to go up a wall, use the trick to get the extra boost. Now when you touch the ground, turn around and do it again. If you do it move than once the camra will zoom back and the screen will go black. Then you will see the under carage of your car. If you do it with mushrooms you can get stuck and will not be able to get out. So be careful when you do that.

The Special Weapon Hint

Here I have set up a hint set that tells you a little more about the special weapons. The star as you all no makes you invinsable to anything but you can still die. The huge mushroom makes you huge of course but did you now if you run over a person it makes them small? The Golden mushrooms give you an infinte number of mushrooms for fifteen seconds. Also if you hit some one when you use that, they will drop there weapon. The pound box pounds anyone any one in front of you in three seconds. They will also drop there weapon thanks to the pound box. Also when you use the star, if you run into a person with the star power it will make them drop there weapon and flip. When the huge mushroom is used and you get hit with lighting, it will shrink you only back to normal.

Once that is done get you and your buddys to cover all the exits. There you can hit any one in sight and get like 20 points in 10 seconds. Some Hints For Battle Mode Multiplayer

Bogus Report:

On Mario Kart Wii you have a choice of grand prix mode, and battle mode. In battle mode you either play ballon battle or coin battles. If you are on the battle mode screen, if you look up at the top it will says Rules at the right hand side. If you click on that you can set how many Computers there will be. What the computers vehicle will be out of the choice of kart or bike. You can even change the computers level. If you play in a staduim with a outer rim, get your friend and your self out there. If you wait untell your enemy enters there, team on the computer. If you do that alot, you will get about ten points in about thirty seconds.

Dodge Red Shells

Unrated
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:

Dodging Red Shells is nearly impossible this time around - they can even sometimes follow you over jumps. I will list the methods here:

1. Turn a corner.

Make a sharp turn around a corner and the Red Shell might hit the corner provided it's a physical, three-dimensional surface. Works well...if you don't have to go off-road to do it. If you have to, don't bother.

2. Use an item.

This one's easy. If you have a Banana, Green Shell, Red Shell or even a Bomb handy, then drop it behind you (or hold it behind you, if it's a Banana/Triple Bananas) and the Red Shell will hit it. Maybe. If you use a Bomb, just make sure the Red Shell isn't right behind you, or the explosion will hit you. Fake item boxes do not work.

3. Jump over a gap.

If you can, that is. They will occasionally follow you over, somehow. But most of the time they just fall into the water/fire/canyon/abyss. If you're on a course with plenty of gaps you get boosted over, such as Rainbow Road, then it's easy to avoid them, provided you can get to the booster in time before it hits. On other courses, you can use Mushrooms and such to jump over gaps as shortcuts AND Red Shell stoppers. How convenient.

4. Get something in front of you.

If there's a Banana Skin on the road, or another racer is right beside you, get in front of it/them. The Red Shell will either hit whatever it is or be directed towards it. Very convenient if you're head to head with someone for first place, and they get hit by the Red Shell that should have been after you.

That's about it. And not, unfortunately, you can no longer power boost/mini turbo/whatever you call it, out of the path of a Red Shell.
