To get a awesome start off at the starting line this is how you do it. Any character can do this and with any vehicle as well.

To get a awesome start you hold down the the acceleration button when "2" starts to fade. I hope I helped you alot.

Ha ha! When you do into Time Trials, if you notice when you go into Solo Time Trial (the only one I've tried so far) and select a track it'll have a small picture of a character in the game (often accociated with that track). On a few of them it'll have the picture of an unlockable character (Ex. On the Bowser Castle 3 course it'll have the picture of Dry Bowser, an unlockable character). I think it's for racing against them or something, I haven't tried it yet (hey, I've only had it a couple days). I just thought I'd point out this neat little Easter Egg.

To block an item all you really have to do is have an item yourself. When an item is sent towards you, you will see an icon at the bottom of your screen What you then have to do is equip yourslef with an item by pressing <- or -> on the D-pad. This will in turn block the item. This however will not work with every item. The items that work best are shells and bannana's

In the Wario's Gold Mine stage there is a shortcut, in a certain point of the stage there is a blue track and the normal track, go to the blue track and drop down the gap to a narrow shortcut, there are 3 speed boosts there.
