To unlock songs you must first meet certain requirements to start a battle with a computer-controlled challenger which when you win unlocks the corresponding song.

Unlock Super Samurai - Jun:

Play 3 songs on 'Expert' difficulty setting and get an 'AA' or higher ranking on the 3rd song.

Unlock tokyoEVOLVED - Naoki UNDERGROUND:

You must first unlock ALL the songs and then play 3 songs on 'Expert' difficulty setting getting an 'AA' or higher ranking on the 3rd song.

Unlock Alternate Character Outfits:

Beat the character at different venues to unlock the different costumes.

Unlock Harmony's Alternate Costume:

At the Genesis Venue beat Harmony at the song 'Little Steps'.

Unlock Root's Alternate Outfit:

At the Tectonic Venue beat Root at 'Break Down' with at least a 'B' ranking.
