You will be awarded points for distance, cloud touches, great slides and Sun coins.
Keep an eye out for the Sun coins which are scattered across the levels and usually grouped together as these will earn you points when they are collected. The majority of Sun coins can be found at the lanch valley at the end of each island.
An easy way to get the objective 'Be 34s in Fever mode' is to get someone (next to you while you are playing) to call you when you just got in fever mode. If you then pick up the phone and wait for exactly 34 seconds the other person then must disconnect the call. If you now return to the game you will notice that you have passed the 34s Fever mode objective.
If you are struggling with the upside down objective tilt the device slightly on it's side to trick it because when positioned correctly will give you a better view and make the objective easier to complete.
Keep an eye out for blue coins and collect them when you see one as they give you a temporary speed boost that's helpful for recovering from bad jumps.
Stay in Fever mode as long as possible if you are trying to climb the Game Center rankings as you will rack up more points in it than if you were performing any other task.
Regardless of what your current multiplier is you will get 20 points each time you touch the sky. This comes in useful whenever you are trying to complete an objective that requires a high score as it enables you to rack up points easily.
Use low jumps and stay as close to the ground as possible if you need to reach a far off island quickly. Forget about sky touches and staying in Fever mode and just focus on gliding low on the most direct path.
For every 'Great' slide you perform you will earn points. A 'Great' slide is a perfect slide through a valley where you lose no speed and get the maximum air coming out. Whenever a bird touches the clouds after a high jump you will also get 20 points.
Hills regenerate randomly so if you are struggling on a particular island just put the game down making sure you have quit it completely from your multitasking tray and return to it a few hours later when the island will be different.
Get into the habit of focussing on what is directly ahead of you and not on the bird as the landscape will become more and more unpredictable the further into the game you get.
Each time that you complete a set of objectives you will earn a new nest and receive a different set of objectives to complete. Nesting up will also give you a higher score as your score will be multiplied by the multiplier you see on your nest.
There are no enemies in this game, the only way you can lose is if the night comes and you can monitor how close it is to night time by looking at the daylight monitor which is situated at the bottom left of the screen.
When you mess up on your landing and are struggling to get back in the air keep your finger held down until you are facing down a hill. Then if you power down to the bottom of it and back up you will end up back in the air. This manoeuvre will also save you time and also works if you are floating on water.
