Put up cheat bar ( Ctrl,alt,c ) then typ in motherlode then enter then you should have 50,000 $imolions this cheat work's on The sims 3 aswell but this cheat dose not work on the sims 1 sorry good luck!

Enter more money at a time
During game play in a family, activate cheat menu by holding down Ctrl+Shift+C.
Type in random letter such as: dkhdfgjhdflg
Press Enter.
This should expand the cheat window.
Now type in either kaching or motherlode
Before you press Enter, copy it.
Now press Enter.
The cheat menu should stay expanded, and show your entered cheats.
Now paste the money cheat by pressing Ctrl+V.
Press Enter.
Do it as many times ar you like.
When you think you have enough money, press Esc.
Unlock 50,000 Simoleons
Hold down Ctrl+Shift+C to make the cheat window appear at the top of the screen.
Type in: motherlode
Press Enter
You will have 50,000 more Simoleons in your inventory.
Unlock 1,000 Simoleons
Access the Cheat console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C and then type 'kaching' without the quotes to activate.
