Console Codes

Press the tilde (~) key and enter the following codes to activate the corresponding. All the codes are case sensitive. And be sure to capitalize family member names, settlement names and anything else that needs capitalizing for it to work. All codes have a limited use if you are using patch 1.2 or lower. If you use patch 1.3 or higher you may have infinte uses. If you have patch 1.2 and wish to use a specific code again you need to exit the program and restart it.

Give any Trait your Faction can have to a specific General:

Give_trait "character" "trait" "level number"

Build Automatically anything in the City's Building Queue:

Process_cq "settlement name"

Give a City more Population Automatically (Max amount is 4000):

When you have beaten the game in a full Campaign (50 nations and taken out SPQR) the following new starting nations become available; Egypt, Gaul, German, Sluicid, Spain.

How do I use the tilde key and call up the cheats window

How to turn the sea black

Press ` (left of 1) then type in toggle_fow , end your turn then when it's your turn again press ` and tpye back in toggle_fow the sea should turn black

Automaticly build everything in the queue;

Process_cq "settlement name"

Example; process_cq Sparta

Get money;

Add_money "amount"

Example; add_money 40000 (40000 is the max)

Get eliphants ; oliphaunt

Try this. If you are facing a superior force, take your heaviest cavalry and circle round the enemy, then engage with your front infantry lines. Now the cavalry comes into action. Charge your cavalry straight into your enemy's rear and hope they route.

Well this is not really a cheat but still one

You have to edit a game file but don't forget to take a backup of this file.

So this goes like this

If you have saved game in C:\

Open file: C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data\export_descr_unit

Open this in wordpad format

Now suppose you play Faction Egypt and you wish to have upkeep of chariots reduced to 0 then do followingtype egyptian chariot

Dictionary egyptian_chariot ; Egyptian Chariots

Category cavalry

Class heavy

Voice_type Heavy_1

Soldier egyptian_chariot_crew, 27, 9, 1

Mount egyptian chariot

I was trying to use cheats posted here and found the method to use them it might help few users I hope

To give Flavius Julius trait GoodAdministrator

3 is the maximum degree for this trait

Press [~] during game play to display the console window. Then, enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function:

gamestop or bestbuy - 10% cheaper units in campaign mode

oliphaunt - 40% bigger elephants in campaign mode

jericho - Walls fall down in siege in battle map mode

list_traits - Lists all traits

date - Changes date

toggle_fow - Toggle fog of war

add_money 20000 - Increase money by 20,000 *

add_population - Add population to indicated city

auto_win - Attacker or defender automatically wins next auto resolved battle

give_trait - Give character the trait at indicated level

give_trait_points

When in your city village, I've found a way to make your defences unstoppable(excluding catapults)

Firstly, find a section where there is two houseswalls at either side of a pathway.

NExt, spread out your troops in a line, with about 20 across and 2 down, depending on how many troops you've got.

Then do the same again, but do this behind the set of phalanx within a spears length apart.

If your wondering why, it's so that if any troops/cavalry break pask the firsst lot of men, the second pit can pick them off.

In my computer click on drive c

Then go to program files and click on activision or where ever the game was installed.

Then click on data and scroll down to the file world and click on it.

Then click on maps and go into campaign.

Then click on imperial campaign.

Then go down to descr_strat and enter it.

Then on the left side of the document look out for the words faction "desired faction" (meaning look out for the faction you wish to play as)

Then directly underneath the name should be the amount of denerii that this particular faction will start of with. Change it to what ever you want (maximum 5000000000, if you go over this when you start playin as that campaign the denarii will be that amount but in negative. Don't ask me why.

Then save the do..

I was trying to use some of the cheats posted and after hit and trial I found how to use cheats eg.

To add population in Arretium by 5000

Add_population "Arretium" 5000

Extra money

Press `

Type add_money (you can go up to 40000)

Build everything in building pannal

Process_cq settlement name

Win any battle

Auto_win attacker / defender then press automatticly resolve battle

Before attempting to do this, you MUST have at least 3,000,000 denarii with the money cheat. First, contact the faction you want to destroy. Then, ask them for all their cities. They will almost always agree unless you give them more than 1,500,000 denarii. (which you have a MAJOR surplus of) If they don't agree, wait a couple turns then try again. If they accept, find the nearest city to their capital. Use the create unit cheat to make Milions of troops then march on the city. It's that......complicated. What I mean is it takes a long time to do this but it's woth the wait- big time.
