I finally figured it out!
The way you normally counter Ninja Kong is, after he punches you (dodge it, of course) and you throw out a punch (which he dodges), he'll try to kick you. He will ALWAYS kick with the OPPOSITE foot of the hand he used to punch you. So, just before the kick comes out, if he punched from your left side (with his right arm), shake the Nunchuck. If he punched from your right side (with his left arm), shake the Wii Remote. Do it right as he lifts his foot. Then, after the first uppercut, shake the Wii Remote. If done right, you'll land a double uppercut, in which each hit does 10 damage, sends him flying, and makes him dizzy. This works regardless of whether he's mad or not.
However, (and this is what I did on accident) after he gets mad, try this: wait until after he tries to kick you the first time (dodge it), and after you kick him (which he dodges)--pause for a moment, and heed this: he will ALWAYS, when he throws out his sweep, attack from the same side as his first kick--then just before he sweeps you, if he kicked from the left side (with his right foot), you shake the Wii Remote, or, if he kicked from the right side (with his left foot), you shake the Nunchuck. If done correctly, and with good timing, your uppercut will lift Ninja Kong off his feet for 10 damage. Shake the Wii Remote to have Donkey Kong mimic Ryu and deliver a bloody (yes, literally spraying animated blood!) Shoryuken which sends Ninja Kong spinning into the air. That second hit does a whopping 50 damage! And makes him dizzy!
The timing is tight, however. Try to counter too early, and you'll just repeat that same kick you threw after his first kick, which will keep whiffing, and eventually your fists will collide, and you'll have to do the sequence all over again. Do it too late, and he will hit you with the sweep, then immediately start throwing punches nonstop until you dodge one.
This counter is not easy to pull off, but it is SOOOO worth practicing, because the counter is extra flashy and does triple the damage. It enabled me to take down Ninja Kong in only THREE pummeling sessions!
I know I have succeeded in answering my own question, but I hope that I also succeeded in providing enough details so you guys can pull this cool move off as well. |
There are two ways. First off, his movements: He'll raise his left leg twice, then move to the right a little, move to the left a little, then bend his legs and get his head closer to the ground. That's all you need to know on that part.
The first way is getting between his legs when he raises his left one either the first time or the second time, move with him when he sidles to the right, then left, then, when he bends his legs, jump up and attack it's face. (This is not recommended on the asteroid belt stage in the Starfruit Kingdom because of the ice. The chances of hitting it's legs are very high on that stage.)
There's a second part to this after you get to it's head, but we'll get to that later.
The second way, which is a little harder, but faster, is get between it's legs THE FIRST TIME ONLY it raises it's left leg. If you try it during the second time it raises it's leg, you won't get to the face in time. Then, while it's lowering it's leg, do a backwards somersault (Z+A), and the extra height from that special jump gets you to the spider's face early.
Now for the second part, after you attach yourself to it's head. There are three eyes that'll blink in different intervals. You can only stun the spider while it's middle eye is open. Hit that, then you can vent out your frustrations on that spider with some hardcore pummeling.
Hope this helps. |
Ninja Kong is kind of hard, but not too much.
Take a swing (he'll dodge), then he takes a swing. You dodge. You take another swing. He'll dodge. He then tries to kick you. Dodge that and immediately attack back. DK will kick Ninja Kong in the face. That gets him dizzy. Pummel him like crazy. You can get a lot of pummels on this guy, for some odd reason.
Now, for when he gets mad. Do the same thing again. The only difference is he'll dodge the your first kick, then, throw out a sweeping kick. Don't press the Z button too early, or you'll get hit. Press it at the right time, and DK will jump to dodge. Immediately attack back. DK will kick Ninja Kong in the face again, making him dizzy. Pummel him until he snaps out of it. Rinse and repeat until he goes down.
Be warned. If he hits you, he'll then throw punch after punch until you dodge again, each hit taking away 50 of your health.
A little bonus during the 2nd phase: If, during his 2nd kick, he kicks from the right side (from your point of view), and you dodge, look at his face. He's got this derp face that makes me think that, in his head, he's saying, "Oh no!" before POW! You kick him in the face. It's so funny! If he kicks from the left side, you don't see his face. |
