On the sides of your map (left, top, right), you can find the same symbols that you have on the cannons.
On the map, between 2 symbols from the same kind you have 6 pieces of the map - you need to find where these pieces belong to on the map, when you find it, you'll see that a roman number is missing from the piece. This is the code you need. You collect all the 6 numbers for each symbol.

You would generally put the metal detector in a dry, cool place to prevent overheating and melting or rusting.

I had to enter the codes in order several times over and over. But it finally worked as long as you have the right codes in the right order
