For me it takes about one day but it could depend how long or how many times you play the game just play the game a bunch and I think your baby will grow up

I think it is because...but know I am not for sure but I think it is depending on I phones to Androids because my Android is perfectly fine and my baby is not black...but on my Apple it is like a shadowy figure... So just know this is a idea not a corrected answer or for sure answer

Re load game several times to fix

You just have to wait and don't worry you don't have to wait hours for today the end you only have to wait like 5 minutes but if you want a day to end faster you can click on the moon at the top of your screen but it will cost $20 but you were earn money faster every single time your baby wakes up you get $15 hope this makes sense :-)
