How to get Resources and Food

Valheim is primarily a survival game and as such you will need to gather various resources in order to craft the items you need to survive the environment you have been placed in, these include copper, tin, wood, flint, and raw meat. Listed below is a list of these resources and how you are most likely to obtain each of them in the game.

Wood

Wood:

Harvested from Trees, or branches can be picked throughout the map.

Core Wood:

Harvested from the Pines in the Black Forest area.

Fine Wood:

Harvested from Birches

Ancient Bark:

Harvested from the Ancient trees in the Swamp.

Metals

Copper Ore:

Mined from copper veins in the Black Forest.

Copper:

Made by refining copper ore in Smelter.

Tin Ore:

Mined from tin deposits in Meadows and the Black Forest.

Tin:

Made by refining tin ore in Smelter.

Iron:

Made by refining iron ore in Smelter. It can also be found in chests in the world.

Iron Ore:

Mined from the iron veins in the Mountains or picked up in the Swamp (Bog Iron).

Black Metal:

Made by refining black metal scraps in Blast Furnace.

Black Metal Scrap:

Taken by killing Fuling.

Silver Ore:

Mined from silver veins in the Mountains.

Silver:

Made by refining silver ore in Smelter.

Food Items

Mushroom:

Found growing around areas in Meadows and the Black Forest.

Raw Meat:

Obtained by hunting Boars and Deers.

Cooked Meat:

Made by using Raw Meat on any Cooking Station.

Neck Tail:

Obtained by killing Neck.

Miscellaneous

Flint:

Found near the shore in Green Forest.

Stone:

Obtained from stones picked from the grounds and mined from bigger boulders.

Coal:

Obtained by using wood in a charcoal kiln or by letting raw meat burn on a cooking station.

Dandelion:

Harvested from the shore in Green Forest.

Feather:

Obtained from Crows and Gulls.

Deer Hide:

Obtained by hunting Deer.

Leather Scraps:

Obtained by hunting Boars

Resin:

Can be harvested from trees and from Greydwarf Drops

Chiten:

Mined from the barnacles on the back of a large sea turtle in the ocean.

Greydwarf Eye:

Obtained by killing Greydwarfs.

Neck Trophy:

Obtained by killing Necks.

Surtling Core:

Obtained by killing Surtlings Also found in random chests.

Troll Hides:

Obtained by killing Trolls. Also found in random chests.
