Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies | Nintendo DS

Better birthday
Alright first, I'm playing this on my 3ds. I don't know if that makes a difference, and I don't see why it would but still.
Instead of changing your system date, and causing something to perhaps mess up, or whatever, just change your heros birthday to the date on which you are playing. That way you wont screw up anything else. And yes, you are able to change it as many times as you wish. (at least I've been able too)

Controller selection
This may not apply to everyone but I think using the wii remote and nunchuck instead of a classic controller is so much easier. All you gotta do is keep pressing A. Also, if you turn the remote or hold it straight up, it will do different attacks. Also, I think it's much easier to swim using the wii remote.

Healing on quests with tough monsters
When you are facing a tough monster on a quest (aka a barroth Dx, you can go back to your camp and heal on your bed. Thus saving on potions, or if you don't have anymore. This also heals poison and whatever. However, it doesnt heal your stamina so if you do this make sure you have lots of stamina healing items.

Monster Hunter Tri | Wii

Introduction

This game is amazing. Think of it as sort of a low key skyrim. You don't directly level up. Infact you don't level up at all, except online. What you do is think and forge. If you love rpgs, action, and strategy, youll love this game. Also, shooters but I don't use the guns haha

Graphics

Beautiful graphics. The monsters look amazing. When you use the switch axe, it looks so cool when you sitch forms and even put it away. When your on a cliff it looks amazing in the distance. At night, it's beautiful, the moon the stars, shoting stars amazing. Under water looks amazing too.

Sound

Music is pretty good. I really like when the monsters call out, especially the great jaggi. Also, monsters will use different calls to do different things. I really like how when you get to a boss monster it it will tell you, by a certain sound, so you are not surprised.

Gameplay

Awesome. I think the wii remote is easier. I don't like the way you have to use the d pad as the camera movement. On the classic controller is really hard, thats one of the reasons I like the wii remote better. And it's cool because you can just press A to attack, but it's not just a simple attack, depending on which way you twist the remote it will do a different attack. Also, you can use guns, but I don't, so I don't know much about them. I don't really like how when you gather or carve, or use an item it take a little bit so you can get attacked during. Really frustrating when you drink a potion then get hit right after, and you wasted the potion because it either takes the same amount away again or more.

Lastability

Of course this is an older game, so not many people will be online, but with all thats in it off and online this game will last you a long time.
You can play solo online, and there is also an arena where you can play with someone at your house or also solo

Overall

Awesomely awesome. This game will last you a long time.
I really like how it's not just a simple kill everything game. You have to think about how to defeat monsters especially the bigger ones. Also, you have to defeat a lot to carve ingrediants to actually be able to defeat the stronger bosses. Also you have to be smart in order to defeat the stronger bosses. Theyll, attack to in different ways, sometimes completely surprising you. I also like once you defeat a big monster in a quest it will show up in moga woods.

This game is not for someone who wants a simple fun story. This game is basically quest after quest. There is also no direct leveling, except in online, and thats only your rank. Basically you upgrade and forge weapons and armor to defeat monsters. Also, now that I think about it, this game upgrades your thinking process as you play it (kinda). You will learn how to defeat monsters easier as you battle them more.

When you get a dragon diligence, and make someone a dragon, the scroll will disappear.
You might already know this, but if you don't well here tis. (I made someone a dragon and he got to level 8, so I wanted to switch someone else to the dragon, but I couldnt find the scroll...)
You can get more than one tho.
One in the slimeopolis, one in the best dressed contest, andone in mortamors castle. Course if you get lizzy then you don't REALLY need them. But still.

Ancient devil
When you get to him, hes really hard if you don't know what to do.
Main problem with him, is hell possess one of your party members (the four you have out). And he/she will attack, also using the summons you have up. And when you kill the party member he/she wont become unpossessed, theyll be fainted, so you can't use them. AND the devil will possess someone else after, so it's not a one time thing.
So. To defeat him (because youll most likely die the normal way) is to put all of your djinn on standby, then attack him with your strongest summons. (also I had Daedalus, so that helped me). You might lose one or two of your party, but youll defeat him this way. Course you might defeat him normally, but this way is better.

Forging
When you find something you can forge, and bring it to the woman. Save before you give the item to her. Then when you leave, come back, talk to her, and she gives you whatever it is, if you don't like it, or already have it you can restart the game and try again. I usually go for weapons so this helps me alot, but if you don't care what you get you can use this for if you got the same thing as before.

Also you have to save BEFORE you give it to her, if you save after you give it to her, itll have w/e she makes locked in already.

Smoke/sleep bombs, weasle claws etc.
Dont use these. Theres no point to them. Specially the bombs. Youll have djinn that doe the same thing and even if it doesnt take affect at least youll do some damage.
Then the claws, and powders and seeds, yeah they do damage with out using PP, but the damage is so low it's stupid.
Best thing to do is sell all of them. One doesnt give you much money, but you find so many during gameplay, itll give you alot in total.
