Full Review for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves by guy in oakland

Introduction

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves is the sequel to the highly acclaimed uncharted:drakes fortune.It has quite the name to live up to and somehow Naughty Dog has made it's successor better in every way.

The story is set with you,Flyn,and Chloe setting out on Marco Polo's lost fleet,but during your journey you reveal much more and the real adventure begins....

Graphics

Can you say best looking game this generation??Uncharted 2 looks amazing from the vibrant jungles to the shivering antarctic.This is a game that will make your jaw drop on frequent occasions.especially during the ending,I won't spoil too much but be prepared for the run of your life.but as you are take a good look at the scenery,easily one of the best looking places of the game.

Sound

Voice acting in this game is fantastic as well as sound effects from all the guns and environments.The music during loading screens and main menu are also very nice,but are very similar to it's predecessor so I have to take off one point for that.but aside from that it's a very nice soundtrack and as mentioned already the voice acting is just brilliant,plenty of variety so you will actually enjoy hearing them talk during cut-scenes.

Gameplay

Think Gears of War meets Tomb Raider when thinking about Uncharted.Basically you platform to get around from place to place.and you cover-fire for combat.both aspects are very well done but the platforming stages grow frustrating because the game doesn't always clearly tell you where you must go next.plenty of times during my playthrough I resorted to a walkthrough just to find out where to go next despite me being in a very small room.

The fire combat is fun,but the melee attack you have is a bit too powerful.that being said like the variety the game offers from platforming,to massive gun fights,to stealth missions,and even some puzzles that are quite enjoyable.

Lastability

Not only does this game offer a 9-12 hour single player campaign,it also has a full fledge multi-player and cooperative play.The competitive aspect has your usual array of matches.the most fun are team deathmatch and capture the flag.the cooperative play has two modes,team objective and co-op arena.both have you teamed up with 2 teammates.team objective has you doing various tasks as opposed to co-op arena which is essentially Gears of war Horde mode.

After a match you earn cash which you can use to buy perks,costumes,and taunts.


Both modes are insanely fun and I'm having more fun playing this than Modern Warfare 2 which is saying a lot.

Ah yes,and after you beat the single-player you can unlock cheats and play through it again only this time with the odds in your favor.you can also unlock videos showing how naughty dog made the game and what needed to be done to make this such a visual masterpeice

Overall

Overall this game beats the original in every aspect which is quite impressive because the first was such a success.Naughty Dog did a tremendous job with supplying content and is consistently updating the game to whatever the fans want.

With the excellent single player and addictive multi-player this is a game every ps3 owner must buy.
