Introduction

The gates of oblivion have begun to open, the emperor has been assasinated along with all known heirs, a person has been given a quest from a dying old man, and chaos has begun to reign. Takes place in medevial times with monsters and magic. You play a person who was given a quest by the emperor right before he died. Deliver the Amulet of Kings to Juaffre. What begins as a little task turns into an epic adventure.

Graphics

Marvelous! For the time this was made and even now the graphics portray a world marvelously. Truly beautiful. Details are done quite well, people look unique, monsters and creatures have alot of work put into each different type. The landscape is miraculous. Shivering Ilses is just something else, it's so surreal and nicely done.

Sound

Music to voice acting to sound effects. The music is very good and fits accordingly. Voice acting is also done well. Minor characters have similar or the same as others. But major characters have completely different ones and considering how many major characters there are makes that astounding. Downside? Sound effects aren't the best. Mistakes come up quite frequently though they don't interfere too much with gaming.

Gameplay

The control you have on where you want your character to go is very good. Allowing one to freely choose what type of character they have. A vast arrange of spells separated by skill level and type (Ex. Illusion, Destruction, Mysticism). Along with different guilds to join. Mage, Fighters, Thieves, and Dark Brotherhood. Each with separate and special quests. And the controls are perfectly balanced.

Lastability

Oblivion just plain owns replayability. For one thing you can complete the main quests and still have tons of things to do. Hundreds of side quests including Guild quests. Even more you could choose a different race, path, and major abilities on a new save and play through it entirely differently. The game is massive, as is the world you will explore. A large and expasive land with full towns and a huge capital. Huge dungeons to find and explore. And then Shivering Ilses is another large expansion with even more dungeons to explore. New quests, new monsters, new main story.

Overall

This is a MUST for anyone casual or hardcore. RPG lover or not, this game is truly spectacular. A full world is waiting to be explored, the game has only minor problems with sound but it won't get in the way of your gaming. Probably one of the best games ever. PS3 and Xbox ones differ only a bit. But both regardless are epic. Start saving up and go buy this game, then come back and thank me.
