This is Brandon 2006, and this is my long review on the World War two first person shooter Call of Duty 2 for the 360. Even though I don't have XBOX Live the game can be played over and over again on the four difficulty levels, so you can improve your skill. I really emjoyed this game and suggest you purchase it for your 360.
The graphics are great in this game. From a far the enemies look fairly realistic and up close they are well done. The guns are modeled and look excellent, but the muzzle flash is the worst part. On the russian campaign it is snowing in every level and the snow looks horrible as well, it is basically a small white circle.
The guns in CoD 2 sound beautiful, you can hear bullets wizz past your soldiers head, the grenades exploding around you, your corporal shouting commands, and the machine gun fire miles away. When between battles the footsteps of your soldier sound well done and not exagerated, but once in a battle the gun fire will drown out your footsteps and you actually feel a part of the game just not a user.
The gameplay is terrific, it is extremly fun and tough at times. During some missions you can fly through them just shooting away with no strategy what so ever, while in other you will need to use your smoke grenades and every bit of cover you have. Some missions require you to hold off an enemy attack while witing for reinforcments to arrive and the enemies are at there strongest point in those times.
The game can last a good while because of the acheivment system on the 360. After you beat the game on normal or easy, you can get a higher gamerscore by beating it on veteran. Veteran is a very hard difficulty where getting shot three times in a row will have you six feet under. Also with XBOX Live the game can never get boring because there is always a new challenger awaiting you.
Overall this game is definately a buy for any 360 owner, and one of the best first person shooters ever made. It has nice graphics, adjustable difficulty and lots of replay-ability. Go buy this game if you are in the mood for a shooter or own a 360.
