Banjo kazooie Nuts and bolts is a revival (in a way) of the two Nintendo64 games:
Banjo kazooie
Banjo tooie (the sequel)
The originals were platformer games (Like the mario franchise) but this new one is almost entirely vehicle based. Several parts are availible for you to make fully customizable vehicles of any type imaginable.
The graphics in this game are cartoon like, but fully 3D. Making it the polar opposite of something like Call of Duty. The game is mainnly in 3rd person, but you can switch to first person while in your vehicle. All in all, the graphics are quite good, if it counts that they are not realistic. This game is NOT gory. Few Graphic glitches are seen in the game, but the occaisional randomly flickering surface is noticeable.
Sound quality is very good. Music is good, sound effects are good (if a bit repeatative). The sound of metal vehicle parts snapping off and smashing into the ground or splashing in to the water are well done and can give you a little smile if your the destructive type. Explosions, engines, propellars and jets also sound fairly realsitic.
This game is fun. The ability to completely design your own vehicles and to save several blueprints (i have about 60 now) at one time is extremely handy. You can make cars, boats, helicopters, planes, jets , tanks and pogostick like jumping vehicles. Hundreds of parts are at your disposable, from basic wheels and fuel tanks to flamethrowers and grenade launchers. The actual objective of the game is to complete challenges like; races; vehicle battles, dogfights, and several other things ranging from carting around items, to playing games like sumo wrestling and something similar to darts. Each completed challenge earns you a golden jisaw puzzle piece, equivalent to stars and such in mario games.
The game is long and has a lot of replayability. You can always invent new vehicles and try for better scores and times on the (oh I don't know, say) 100 differernt challenges and boss battles. I have had the game for 8 months and still love playing the game.
In the end, Banjo Kazooie N&B is a great game. It's rated E +10 for cartoon violence or comic mischief or something along those lines. If you like this sort of game I highly suggest you pick it up. If you can't think of good vehicle ideas or aren't sure about whether or not to get it you should search the game on youtube. All in all, I love this game. It makes a nice change from First-person-shooters and other things.
