Urban Chaos: Riot Response is an intense first person shooter following Nick Mason, a new recruit in the new riot response unit..... T-Zero. In this game you must battle with a raging gang called "The Burners" who are trying to destroy the city that you must protect.
The graphic aren't bad but could do with more work. The textures can get choppy but there are hardly any glitches in the graphics at all. The enemies you face are wearing "Jason X" style hockey masks which is good so no two people look like they have the same face, But they seem to wear the same things so none of them really stand out. The people you work with can get annoying after awhile because they don't seem to have any expressions on their face..... Ever.
The sound is great even though there is alot of foul mouthed language. It also sounds like a rioting city would sound like in real life. The voice acting is good but they don't express any feeling or anything at all in their voices which can be a shame and take away the experience. The sound from the surrounding areas are great and that can make the action feel really intense.
The gameplay is supurb even though a little repetetive at moments. In the game there are "no-holds-bared" when it comes to killing the enemy. Its the type of game that says "Shoot first, ask questions later" which is great for letting off some steam. You also get a riot shield which will deflect bullets and other projectiles, you can also use it as a weapon to brutally smash your enemies' face with it. The problem is that the shield makes you nearly invincible, wich seems silly and can take away from the "choas" side of things.
Its got fairly easy story missions that will only take about 8 hours to play through. But with over 80 new items to unlock and over 250 medals to earn, this game will be spinning in your console for about 2 weeks or longer. You will get annoyed playing through the missions again and again to unlock new things, but when you unlock them you will feel like it has been worth it because everything that you unlock really helps you against the battle with "The Burners".
Well overall it's a great first person shooter but nothing thats never been done before. Once you complete the game you may feel it is unpolished and you may feel you have missed out on something, but all the extras in the game should make up for the loss and disappointment.
