Unrailed Tips
Know your Role
In Unralied you can play cooperatively with up to four players in a single team or challenge the co-op skills of your friends in a two versus two game. Regardless of what type of game you decide to play it is important to make sure that each player have their own set of responibiities and sticks to them. Making sure you figure out what roles each player will take on at the beginning of the game will make the 'Only 1 player picks up the tool' challenge a lot easier. The roles are as follows:
- Axe
Your role is to cut trees.
- Pickaxe
Your role is to mine rocks.
- Track
You role is to place resources into the crafting cart and and place the tracks.
- Bucket
Your role is to Keep the bucket filled up and monitor the train's temperature. You also deliver resources close to the train and are in-charge of dynamite.
How to Place Tracks
Always make sure you have left enough space on either side of the tracks for you to walk past when you place them. If you do this you will ensure the train will not block your path and you will not be separated from tools and resources.
Choose Clear Paths
It is better to place tracks where you will encounter the least resistance. This basically means avoid trying to go straight through a forest or rocks and instead go where the path is clear. The only time you should avoid doing this is when you do not have enough material to make the needed tracks for the detour you have planned. In most cases you will find the path with the least resistance is the path to the train station.
Default Carts
Before you progress onto other biomes in Unrailed it is important that you first get the max upgrade for your 3 main default carts (crafter water, and storage). When your next biome is a desert it is essential to you have the max water upgrade in place before you proceed.
Dynamite Carts
Dynamite carts are the only additional cart you should consider buying. When you do purchase them you should place them at the back of the train and upgraded to max whenever you have the opportunity.
Upgrading
In Unrailed you should only upgrade your train after having the max upgrade for your 3 default carts or when you think the train is going too fast. However, when you reach the snow biome you should focus on upgrading your train all the way to the end to get it through that particular biome as quickly as possible, the reason for this is you will find the space biome (the final one in the game) to be easier than the snow biome.
Skip Challenges
Make sure at the start of each round everyone in the team is aware of the challenge and who will be in-charge of completing it. If the challenge is not worth the aggravation of trying to complete and there is a risk of your train crashing you should instead skip it.
Collect the Bolt
During the round, be on the lookout for the bolt located on the map and ensure that it is collected before reaching the train station.
Communication
How you communicate with other players in your team will determine how successful you are in Unrailed. At the beginning of the game you should say what role you would like to play in the game and stick to it. During the game make sure the other players are aware of what you need and what you are doing and call out the location of the bolt on the map and a possible pathway whenever you can. Also make sure the other players in your team know when you are doing a challenge.
