Well, another great comic book by Stan Lee turned into a great video game by Vicarious Visions. Ultimate Spider-Man takes you on a journey where you play as the web slinger Spider-Man and the powerhouse Venom. A new extended enviornmet takes you through the city all the way upto Queens, NY. Fans of the older games such as Mysterio's Menace have been waiting for a game like this.
Good, not great, not off the charts. A game like this deserves better graphics, like Mysterio's Menace, it was denied the right to hang with the X-Men GBA Games, in terms of graphics. The graphics are pretty straight-forward: just like GT: Transformation, just another beat-em-up, but with way better graphics, but like I said, they're not something to praise Vicarious Visions about. Score 5.
Sound quality is something that Vicarious Visions outdid themselves with here, extremely hot music, in game and even in the title screen, it's one of the many good qualities to this game, and those of you who like to hear the bad guys squeal; when you play as Venom, as you're about to absorb them, they plead for mercy, so that's a plus, I guess. Score 9.
Awesome, good job by Vicarious Visions, although you see most of the enemies almost every time on every level, that's the only thing you'll probably get bored with, but think about this: You get to whup them all over again, over and over, and over... It's also good when you play as Spider-Man, a more exhilirating web-slinging expirience is promised when you take to the skies. Score 10.
Wow, two tens, not bad at all, but what about this one... It's safe to say you will be playing this game for a while, a long while. This game is anything but boring. You'll be playing this game long after you've dropped Transformation. Score 10 on this one, folks.
Overall, this game delivers about 98 percent of what is expected on a Spider-Man game, but following the classic Ultimate Spider-Man comic books, you can't really say this game doesn't deliver. Overall, kudos to Stan Lee, Vicarious Visions and anybody else involved that I forgot to mention. It's safe to say this game will stick around for a long time to come. Score 10 overall. Congratulations, a perfect 10.
