From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Grizzlies are located in and around Tall Trees & northwards in the snowy area. To kill a Grizzly easily, use the Buffalo rifle, and Dead Eye and aim for headshots. Buffalo rifle is unlocked after completing Master Hunter Rank 5
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
Grizzlies are harder than most animals to take down, so be sure your packing a high powered rifle or shotgun & use Dead Eye to aim for headshots to take down the beast quickly.
Buckin' Awesome Break the Kentucky Saddler, the American Standardbred, and the Hungarian Half-bred.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Kentucky Saddler horses are located in the area around MacFarlane Ranch, New Austin - look on your map to find an area with a picture of a horse. Go there. They are a goldish colour with a whitish mane. American Standardbred are located around Beechers Hope - West Elizabeth, so are only accessible once that region is unlocked. The American Standardbred is completely black in colour. The Hungarian Half-bred is located in Mexico. Look on your map to locate areas with horses. If you're just entering Mexico - the Hungarian Half-bred can be located in the area surrounding the hut that Irish 'gives' you. The Hungarian Half-bred is white in colour. Do not mistake this horse with a silvery-grey horse that is in Mexico as well.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
To do this trophy, you must break in these horses in the wild. Be warned, breaking these horses is a longer process than any other run-of-the-mill horse because of their rarity. These three are amoungst the fastest horses in the game. To find these horses look on your map & look for areas where there are Horses marked. The area between Armadillo and MacFarlane's Ranch will have the Kentucky Saddler in the wild. It is a golden/whitish horse. The area between Armadillo and Ridgewood Farm will have the American Standardbred. Which is a black horse. To get the Hungarian Half-bred, you have to be in Mexico. You can encounter them in the very first area of Mexico, just after you land with Irish. To capture these horses, it is the same process that you learn whilst completing the horse breaking mission with Bonne & her father.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Using Dead Eye is simple as anything. To get this trophy easily, switch your aiming mode to 'Expert'. Expert aiming has no auto-lock on, but when coupled with Dead Eye, you don't need auto-lock on. Use any gun.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
This one is easy enough. Just use Dead Eye from the start of the game & aim for head-shots. Couldn't be simpler because headshots refil your Dead eye meter faster, allowing for more Dead Eye use.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
To capture a bounty alive, you'll need to complete the horse breaking mission for Bonnie to get the lasso. Then all you need to do is kill off any hostiles that are protecting your bounty target. Use Dead Eye for easy headshots. Then if your target hasn't gotten onto a horse, shoot his right arm with a low powered gun. Cattleman revolver works well for this. Then switch to your Lasso, then rope him, then put him on the back of your horse. You'll need to transport your bounty to the local jail and you'll have to fend off a couple of waves of hostiles, to make sure you have tobacco or snake oil handy to replenish your Dead Eye meter.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
Use Dead Eye to shoot any wave of hostiles before making an attempt at your Bounty. Once you reach a bounty, try shooting him in the leg to make him fall over, or shoot him in his gun arm to make him drop his weapon. Then lasso the target & hogtie him. Eliminate any remaining hostiles, then put your target on the back of a horse & using Dead Eye gun down any persuing hostiles.
Exquisite Taste Purchase a rare weapon from a gunsmith.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
This is simple enough, after a while of playing through single player, you'll come to the town of Escalera. Just save $500 for the semi-automatic shotgun. You'll need a certain level of honour/fame to unlock the guns, but if you play through the campaign, that should be easy enough. If the semi-auto shotgun doesn't get you this trophy buy the semi-auto pistol instead.
Fightin' Around the World Knock someone out in melee in every saloon in the game in Single Player.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
There are seven (7) saloons in Red Dead Redemption. To get this trophy you must use your fist to hit someone enough so that they fall to the ground, and not get up for a while. If you walk over to them & touch them, they'll get right back up. But that counts as a knock out. The saloons are as follows; New Austin: 1. Armadillo 2. Thieves' Landing 3. RathSkeller Fork
Nuevo Paraiso: 4.Escalera 5.Chuparosa 6.Casa Madrugada
West Elizabeth: 7.BlackWater
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
Again, this one is simple enough. Every major town has a saloon. Just walk into the saloon & find a guy near the bar, make sure your fist is equipt & use L2 to aim at him, and punch him. Winning the fight is easy, just dart backwards when your opponent is going to swing a punch, then dart towards him & press R2 a few times to combo him. Two or three combos should do the trick.
Friends in High Places Use a pardon letter with more than $5000 bounty in Single Player.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
first off, if you care about your honor. Buy a Bandana from any tailors store. Having your bandana equipt/on will prevent any fame/honor loss. Conversely it also prevents any fame/honor gain. So use it only in situations where you're trying to avoid fame/honor loss.
I've found this easiest if you do this in Blackwater. Head to the tailors store - but do not go in. Go across the road & look directly back at the tailors store. You want to get up onto those roofs. Around the side of these buildings you'll see a wagon. This is your key to getting onto the roofs. From there, all you do is start killing. Make sure you're maxed out on ammo, dead eye replenishers and medicine. If for whatever reason you run out of ammo, hide behind a chimney/sign & wait for the heat to cool off. Jump down, restock & do it all over again.
Frontiersman Obtain Legendary rank in any Single Player Ambient Challenge.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
To get this, all you have to do is attain Rank 10 in one of the ambient challenges. They are; Master Hunter, Sharpshooter, Survivalist, and the Treasure Hunter challenge. The Treasure Hunter challenge only has 9 levels, and is the hardest one to complete, as the treasure maps given are very, very vague. In order to complete this trophy, I suggest going after either the Sharpshooter challenge, or the Survivalist challenge and reaching rank 10
Gold Medal Earn a Gold Medal Rank for a combat mission in Single Player.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
You get this suit by buying it at the tailers in Theives Landing. First you have to unlock it. Do this by either busting out (losing all your chips) at a game of poker, or quitting the game of poker. That will unlock the Eledant Suit. The Elegant Suit allows a player to cheat by playing a small mini-game.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
A couple of options. Either bust out of a poker game (lose all your chips) or quit the game. Both ways should unlock the Elegant suit for you.
High Roller Win over 2000 chips in a hand of Poker.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Earn this by playing poker in Blackwater. Easiest way to do this is to save the game in Blackwater, then going down to the poker table. Just move all in first off, if that doesn't work right away, keep going all in until someone calls. The pot should be over 2000chips. If you lose, reload the game & try again to avoid losing your buy-in if you tight on cash. Conversly you could play properly, or wait until only one player is at the table before playing.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
This requires patience and skill at poker. If you do not know how to play well, stick to card combinations that are mid-to-high pocket pairs (example; 6&6 or higher) and any combination of 10, J, Q, K, A. Holding these cards isn't a guarantee you'll win, but its a great start. Second, you have to play tight (do not play every single hand - select carefully which hands you'll play. See the card suggestions for that) and play slightly agressively. Betting a big amount of chips will make them fold. So bet between $15 and $40 to start with, if they raise, do whatever you feel is necessary. Next, you have to avoid losing a lot of your chips. So if you're involved in a hand, make sure your hand (cards your holding, plus cards on the board are a good combination) or else your chance of losing is pretty high. If you don't know the hand values, check google for Texas Hold'em winning hands.
Hit the Trail Get from Blackwater to Escalera before sundown in a public Free Roam session.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
To get Fame & Honor during Single Player campaign you have to complete random encounters, stranger mission, storyline missions & win duels. With Dueling, you earn 50 Fame points for killing. 100 Fame points for disarming, so where possible, aim to disarm your opponent. Making positive choices in the game and not killing innocent people (ie; not theives, bandits etc) will help keep your Honor up. If you however kill a lawman/innocent person, you will lose 50 honor points per death.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
Fame is easy to get. Kill the 'bad' people in the game. People that steal peoples horses, are shooting the lone asian treasure hunter, and in duels. You get twice as much fame by DISARMING an opponent in a duel than you do by killing him. Honor is also easy to get, make safe, 'pro' choices (ie, don't side with bandits & don't kill innocent people & farmers/ranchers/horse riders animals) playing through campaign will help out, but you'll have to do the side missions, & help people out in order to max out both. If you want the LOWEST honour rank, do the opposite, side with bandits, kill innocent people & kill their animals. Kill law enforcement & shopkeepers etc etc. Be prepared for a few gun fights if you choose to do it this way though.
More than a Fistful Earn $10,000 in Single Player.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
This is one of the easiest trophies to unlock. Despite what you may have guessed, you do NOT have to have a bank balance total of $10,000. You just have to have earned $10,000 during your course of playing. So that is pretty easy. You get money from Stranger Missions, random encounters, looting dead bodies, playing poker, five finger fillet, liars dice, blackjack and horseshoes, so there's endless ways to earn that cash.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
Simply avoid buying things from the General Stores & playing poker, blackjack, five finger fillet & liars dice. These things will eat away at your bankroll. Conserve ammo where you can by using Dead Eye, and look for herbs to forage, and kill & skin as many wild animals as you can. Cougars are great for earning cash, although they are very tough beasties. Owls, Hawkes and Eagle feathers are also high value items. Different stores in different areas will pay different amounts for items. If an animal is common in the area surrounding a store, they will pay less for it then if the animal was not found there at all. So shop around to find the best places to sell things. Do not buy a deed to a horse if you can avoid it, just use the ones the game provides, buy pressing the up directional on the D-pad to whistle for a horse.
Most Wanted Become a Public Enemy for 10 minutes and escape alive in a public Free Roam session.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Completed by playing Free Roam in a public server online. Internet connection needed.
In order to become a 'Public Enemy' you must first obtain a bounty. Do this in the same ways you would in Single Player. Only problem is, other players in your Free Roam lobby can, and often at times, will try to kill you. Once you've been killed, your bounty goes away. So in order to do this trophy you must get a bounty and stay alive for 10 consecutive minutes in the same public Free Roam match, then once that is done, clear your name.
No Dice Complete a game of Liar's Dice without losing a single die.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
This is easily completed in Theives' Landing, playing against 1 person. Start off betting 1 more than what you have of any given die. So if you have 2 threes, try bet 3 threes instead. Try to force the bet high enough that your sure the other player is bluffing right from the start. especially helps if the player bets 4 of anything, and you don't have a single die of that number. If however you do lose a die, just quit the game and immediately join back in. The ante is only $20 so it isn't expensive and you can keep trying over and over and over again if you have to.
On the Trail of de Vaca Uncover every location on the map in Single Player.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
You will complete a majority of this just by playing through the campaign & completing Stranger Missions, and the Ambient Challenges. But to ensure you have every location uncovered, head into the general stores. there will be maps of local areas for sale. But them, they fill in the blanks and mean you don't have to do the manual searching.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
Each General Store has for sale 1 or more maps of specific territories/areas within the Red Dead Redemption world. By buying these maps from the General Stores you'll help yourself immensely because each map contains hideouts, landmarks & towns of the area it pertains to. It saves yourself a lot of unnecessary wandering. Completing the campaign will help fill in any missing pieces.
Posse Up! Create a posse and get the maximum number of members.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Pretty straight forward. Although finding someone with this trophy is very difficult. The "Rockstar" that is alluded to is a developer/game tester. They commonly have a gammer ID of "RStar" with a number. For example "RStar2" If you come across a person with a game ID like that, kill them you should get the trophy. If you don't, the person was likely using a created ID and isn't affiliated with Rockstar in any way.
Slow on the Draw Get 10 assists in a single Hideout in a public Free Roam session.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Look for a white question mark (?) on your map with a black circular background. This signifies a Stranger Mission. First one can be found in Armadillo pretty early on. Once a Stranger Mission is intiated, a purple question mark (?) with a black background will signify the location you must head to to complete another task of the Stranger Mission. There are 19 Stranger missions in total.
Unnatural Selection Kill one of every animal species in the game in any game mode.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Animals in alphabetical order needed;
Note; domesticated animals do not count. In other words, do not shoot a cow, bull, pig, dog, chicken or horse(if it has a saddle or a rope on it) in and around a town thinking you need to in order to get this. You do not.
Armadillo: You can find these in New Austin and in Mexico. Bears: You can find these in the Tall Trees area in the North. Beavers: These are in the Tall Trees area in the North. Bighorn: You can find this in the mountains in New Austin and Mexico, and in abundance in the Tall Trees area of the North. Boars: You can find these in Pike's Basin and the Tall Trees area. Bobcats: You can find these in Mexico and the Tall Trees area. Buffalo: As you first enter the Great Plains from Thieves' Landing. Cougars: In the mountains and hills in New Austin and Mexico. Coyote: New Austin and Mexico. Crows: All three areas. Deer: All three areas Ducks: On the Great Plains near the edges where the water meets the land. Eagles: Tall Trees and Nikoti Rock areas of the North. Elk: Tall Trees area. Foxes: Near Riley's Charge in New Austin and in the Tall Trees area in the North. Hawks: New Austin and Mexico. Seagulls: Blackwater near the water. Skunks: Around MacFarlane Ranch in New Austin. Snakes: All three maps, listen for snake hissing or rattling while you are riding then check around on the ground. Songbirds: Near the towns on all three maps. Vultures: All three maps, usually near death. Wolves: All three maps, but in abundance in Mexico and the Tall Trees area.
From sphynxx | May 23rd 2010
This one is a little difficult, as you have to pay very close attention to your surroundings, but it's not impossible. If you must, keep a record of which animals you've shot & killed, out of the game. That way, if you come across an animal you've never encountered before, you can add it to your list & you'll know where you stand. There are small rabbits, skunks, armadillos & beavers in the game, so look out for them moving in the undergrowth/scrub as well as looking out for the bigger game. You may have to kill a persons donkey & pig (found in farms/hitched to a hitching post) to complete this, as I'm unsure if pigs & donkeys are found in the wild.
What About Hand Grenades? Get a ringer in a game of Horseshoes.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
This one is slightly more difficult to acheive. First, go to any point on your map marked with a white horseshoe with a circular black background. This is the horseshoes game. To get a ringer means to get your horseshoe around the peg on the full. I've gotten a horseshoe on the peg via sliding it on the sand, but I didnt get the trophy. In horseshoes, you have to aim your throw using L2. I've found that lining the peg up with Marstons finger helps a lot. Then you have to use your R3 stick to control the swing by pulling it back, and pressing it forward. Press R2 to release the horseshoe. It will take a lot of patience, and practise to get the hang of the swing & release, so hang in there & eventually you'll get good enough to get a ringer.
Austin Overpowered Complete Twin Rocks, Pike's Basin, and Gaptooth Breach Hideouts in Single Player.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Pretty straight forwards. Head to the locations mentioned & undertake the Gang Hideout missions. Someone is generally there to help. Whether its a treasure hunter in Gaptooth Breach you rescue & follow or another person.
Evil Spirits Complete Tumbleweed and Tesoro Azul Hideouts in Single Player.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Pretty straight forwards. Head to the locations mentioned & undertake the Gang Hideout missions. Someone is generally there to help. Tesoro Azul has an Army general/captian near a boulder I believe. Be careful, if shoot an army soldier, the army will turn on you. So avoid that at all costs.
Go Team! Be on the winning team for four consecutive victories in any team based game in public matches.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Basically, complete every single Gang Hideout that you've completed in Single Player, in the online public Free Roam lobby. Easiest to complete if you have a posse of friends, or team up with other players or join a posse. Be warned, other online players can be around and may just try & stop you from completing this.

Mowing Them Down Kill 500 enemies with a mounted weapon in any game mode.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Just look for white question marks (?) with a circular black background appearing on your map. Head over & initiate the mission. Once that's done, look for purple circles on your minimap, or a purple question mark (?) in a circular black background on your map for the next part. Complete each part (sometimes 2, 3 or 4 parts) to complete the Stranger Mission. Once the Strangers mission has been completed, it will no longer appear in your Journal (start menu) under the Strangers heading.
The Gunslinger Score a headshot on any enemy using Expert targeting mode.
From sphynxx | May 31st 2010
Easily completed. Just press start > options > & look for a heading that says "aim" or something of the sort, change it over to "Expert" then go & do a mission. Doing this right at the start of the game makes it easier, especially as Expert aim (no auto lock on) isn't that difficult to use. Just enter Dead Eye, and shoot a guy in the head. Done.
