Tropical Romance Island Event

The Tropical Romance Island Event is a special limited time event which completes on Valentines Day, 14th February 2016. This event is made available once you have updated your game with the Romance Update.

Romance Island is a new location for your Sims to explore, after you have downloaded the update it is easily unlockable by building the cruise ship, after you have collected some bananas - sounds complicated? Well it's not really and literally takes a couple of minutes.

First of all you need to plant a banana tree, this is available in the Event tab from the home store menu. Eventually you'll need to plant a whole heap of trees so it's probably best you plant your first tree in a space where you can eventually place up to 10 (you can't have more than 10 Sims in one place), so it is easier to organise.

We did this by clearing some space in a garden and began planting the four banana trees that we had available to us. Once the firs tree is planted, get a sim to collect the bananas, that takes a few seconds, then you can go to the cruise ship dock on the map and start to build the cruise ship. This also just takes a few seconds, then you can head off to Romance Island!

On Romance Island you will find a load of locations which are all locked, but you will also see a heap of things that need clearing away. You can get a head start on the game by starting the clear these Items before the game asks you to as there are a load of time intensive tasks there (8-12 hours per item) - and there are more than 10 so you can't do all the clearing in one session.

So we are well into the Quest at the moment, and what I'm finding is it's a real problem to try to get constructor coins and there is no easy way around it.

Here are the best ways so far that we have found to get constructor coins for this Event:

1) Clear the Island. There are many Items which need to be cleared away in the island, send loads of Sims over and get clearing to gain constructor coins.

2) Collect Fruit. If you collect enough you'll reach waypoints that give you a batch of constructor coins

3) Use the Spin Flower. There is a new spin flower which you can either use bananas or social points to gain constructor coins. I've not had much luck with it so far though, the odds of winning any are pretty low I think.

4) Use the social Point Flower. This costs 5 LP a spin, but you will win Social Points this way, and then use them to try to gain constructor coins via the constructor coins spin flower.

This Event is now over

This Event seemed to have ended far to quickly for most people, and while EA have given a seven day grace period in order to complete any buildings that you may have unlocked, there is no way to collect extra resources.

If you don't have resources, the only way to start the construction of unlocked buildings is to use social Points (SP). You can try to earn these via social tasks or by the Social Point Flower, which costs 5LP per spin. You can also purchase Social Points from the shop.

This was an incredibly difficult task to complete in the given time.
