This is the second Stables Mission / Quest and once flagged and completed it unlocks the Show Jumping Hobby for your Sims.
As is often the case there is a timer for this Quest and, if you complete the quest withint he alotted time, there is a special reward unlock. The Timer is 6 days, and the reward is a Unicorn Rocking Horse (seriously).
This is one of those instances where chances are better than average you will need to spend LP skipping timers - so you have to decide if the rocking unicorn thingy is worth it? If you plan on having lots of little girl kids you may think so - and if you are a girl gamer, you probably DO think so!
Before you decide that this is def worth it you should probably know that the actual cost of this thing, once you unlock it, is 100 LP (woof that is expensive!)
Completing the repair of the gate will automatically trigger the flagging of the first Quest for the Quilting Missions. Assuming that you have a Senior available who is not doing the Bird Feeding Hobby, this is an excellent opportunity for you to expand your available hobbies prior to the finite lifespans altering your play habits.
I seriously recommend that you get as much done - and as many tasks and hobbies fully unlocked - as you can before Death becomes a part of the game for you!

Wrapping up the Mission
Now that you have finished repairing the gate to this last ring you have basically completed this Mission and its Quest save for one minor chore... You need to clean and repair the Jumping Ring.
To do that pull in a work crew of four or five Sims and, as with the previous two rings, remove the trash and natural hazards. Once those are all gone, you need to repair the fence and the ground, as completing that will fully restore this ring to sage and full use.
This is important for a couple of reasons - not the least of which being you cannot continue on to complete the acquisition of some of each type of Horse until the rings are repaired, and you cannot complete mastering all three of the horse-focused hobbies until you have at least one (but preferably two) of each class of horse.
Ultimately you need to complete ALL of that BEFORE you endeavor to complete the Life Dreams & Legacy Quest because of the time-intensive nature of those hobbies and how very horribly that would impact the life span of your Sims if you failed to do it BEFORE those Life spans became limited. Just saying.

Note: that you will need to feed as well as groom and Pet your Horses if you plan to participate in the Horse-based hobbies - you must keep your horses happy because an unhappy horse may refuse to compete.

Beyond the Unicorn
While you are doing this Mission you can also begin the process of unlocking the other hobbies at the Stables - and we think you should - by tapping the gate and paying the cost to start each timer. These are done in series, as one can require the other, thus:
1. Tap the Tricks Hobby Gate (Pay $15,000) for the 1.5h timer.
2. Tap the Vaulting Hobby Gate (Pay $30,000) for the 3h timer.
To actually do the Vaulting Hobby you have to have 2-Star Horses - which you can only get by completing the Tricks Hobby - which means rebuilding it and then completing it in order to unlock those horses.
It would be an idea to free up a significant number of Sims - say 6 at a minimum - and have them work as the designated crew for clearing and repairing the various Hobby rings. Just saying.
Horse Expansion
To actually expand your stable of Horses you will need to finish repairing the Stalls inside the Stables. Those consist of the following:
1. $20,000 + 10h Timer
2. $30,000 + 12h Timer
3. $50,000 + 15h Timer
4. 10 LP + 20h Timer
5. 20 LP + 24h Timer
Each of the Stalls you repair allows you to add an additional Horse to your Stables. But of course you actually have to purchase that additional horse...

The Unicorn can do all of the hobby tasks that the horses can do - or at least they all show up in our game - have not actually used it for them but the tasks are there.
Can you do anything with the unicorn--show jumping, tricks or vaulting?
V.helpful.
But "if you are a girl gamer you probably DO think it's worth it?"?
Come on -- work with me, people!
No it is not free - you have to pay 100 LP to buy it - but you cannot do that until you have fully completed ALL three of the horse hobby collections.
Do you get a free unicorn?
No - the Unicorn is strictly optional and does not factor in to ANY of the Horse-based hobbies at the Stables.
Do I have to buy the unicorn to advance to the next quest?
Once you advance the hobby to the point where you have completed the top level you may then BUY the Unicorn - it costs 1m Simoleons and you buy it from the regular menu you used to buy the horses.
i have completed all the request, how come i dont receive the unicorn?
Visit the stables, whistle a sim there, then have them tap on the gate.
How do you inspect the show jump gate
Just click on the Show Jumping gate.
Those are known bugs - the wizards are aware of them and a fix is expected. Thankfully they do not effect everybody... Sorry mates.
I have completed all the trick horse ribbons hobby twice but it will not unlock the next horses. Just keeps saying indeed to complete the trick horse ribbons, which I have twice.
How do I leave rocky road for the unicorn?
Can you tell me where the lock is please?
I cannot find the gate to inspect?!?!
