Limited Special Event: Yard Sale 2014

First - wow! We have made it to another summer in Tapped Out, being Tappers and Tapping along. So yeah, Wow! Second - you know this is not really an event in the usual sense of the word, right?

What it is, if this is not too difficult to believe, is a Yard Sale. A Yard Sale in which the wizards at EA have made it possible to find a good excuse to put most (if not all) of the special Items from past events back into the game for a limited time, and allow you to purchase them!

This does not include just Premium Items - well, it does include a lot of Premium Items - but a lot of the items it does include are one-offs (which is to say you can only have one of them in your game at any time) so if you already have them, they are not going to show up in the catalog on the in-game store.

To make this as easy on you as we can - and to have it be all organized and neat - we are dividing the Items up into basic categories - each in its own section - so you know where to look for what you want.

We are not intentionally spearating the Items by purchase type - but we are including the prices next to each item that is listed with $ being the in-game Money, and D being Donuts (the Premium Currency).

Buildings / Structures

These Buildings are usually from past events, and often are a desirable addition to your town - just saying. If you can afford them they are almost always worth getting...

Cool Brown House (1) (120D) The Day The Earth Stood Cool Event (November 2012)

Helter Shelter (45D) No Quest-line but Small Dialogue... Christmas 2013.

Ultra House 2 (90D) Includes Quest-line. Treehouse of Horror XXIV Event / Halloween 2013.

Note: If you only have a small amount of Donuts and you want to use them as effectively as you can when considering buying Buildings, it is almost always better to purchase a Building that has a character in it rather than one that does not.

(1) This Structure / Building includes the Character Outfit/Costume Cool Homer - however that fact is NOT listed in the catalog, and the Costume does NOT appear until after you build the structure AND begin its first Quest in the Gym.

Characters

This section covers FULL Characters - that is to say new characters added to the game that have Tasks and may speak and otherwise add to the fun!

Character Costumes

These are Costumes - or Outfits - and not entire new Characters. Basically you can buy this Costume and, IF you actually own the character that it belongs to, they can wear it and thus gain access to Tasks that are specific and exclusive to the Costume.

Without the character and the new Costume you would not, therefore, have access to those Tasks!

Bare Chested Willie (60D) Includes Quest-line. Whacking Day 2013 Event.

Gorgeous Grampa (75D) Includes Quest-line. February 2013 Episode Tie-In Event.

Mayan Marge* (90D) W/Quest-line & Tasks. Treehouse of Horror XXIII / Halloween 2012.

Mayan Package** (300D) Mayan Marge, Mayan Homer + Mayan God (NPC Character) & Mayan Calendar. Includes Quest-line. Treehouse of Horror XXIII / Halloween 2012.

Ninja Homer (100D) Includes Snake Decoration & Quest-line. Whacking Day 2013 Event.

* This character outfit was NEVER RELEASED as part of the original event! That means you actually have an opportunity to obtain a character outfit that, while it was intended to be in an original Special Event, for whatever reason never actually got released. Now how cool is that?

** The Mayan Package is the principal Items from Halloween 2012. If you already own some but not all of the items in this package, the contents of the package will list for you minus the objects you already own, with the price reduced per the unreported value that the game applies to each object. Therefore if you have everything but Mayan Marge, it will just list her, and the price for her, which is 90D. If you are missing one of the other outfits it might have that and a price of $180D and etc.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Note: It IS actually possible to purchase a Premium Outfit for a character you do not actually own in some cases, which means your game marks it as owned, but you cannot use it. You will want to keep that in mind, right? Also note that it may not be a bad idea to buy the more desirable ones even if you do not have that character since you never know if you will be able to get it again!

A Little Bit of History

The Yard Sale Event actually has some History to it - as it started out as a way to allow some objects that for whatever reason never made it into the game to get into the game - and for some objects from Events that were widely viewed as having happened too quicl (some in just two short days(!).

Season 24 / 2013 Yard Sale Event

This Yard Sale Event was held to commemorate the successful conclusion of Season 24 of the TV Show The Simpsons, and including the following objects and Items:

We hope you have the chance to buy the Items from this year's Yard Sale that you want - because remember there is nothing wrong with wanting that having will not cure!
