Christmas 2013

10 December 2013 - thru - 14 January 2014

The Christmas Holiday Special Event arrived in your virtual Springfields (and wherever you happen to be in the real world) in the first week of December. Activating this special event requires that the player download the Update patch for their game and device.

We would have brought the details to you sooner but we were crippled by the new Server Disconnection Bug that causes the client network connection to crash after twenty to thirty seconds of regular Game Play.

Once you have downloaded the patch and applied it to your game the world will change dramatically - if you played during the previous year's Xmas Event you know what to expect -- if not then you are in for a treat as the world turns white as Springfield receives the one thing that every soldier in Afghanistan fondly dreams of: a White Christmas with no artillery or small arms fire.

The Xmas Event Structure

The Christmas Event is structured in five distinct segments, each of which has its own mission/quests and rewards.

Now that the event has come - and gone - you can pat yourself on the figurative back and congratulate yourself for having made it through yet another holiday with your sanity intact. Well done you!

With any luck -- and it really did take serious luck -- you will have managed to get through the event while obtaining all of the favorable Items, with particular emphasis upon the special Buildings, including the ClausCo Skyscraper. Yeah!

Gift Cards and Event Currency

The event-exclusive currency consists of Gift Cards in a variety of base amounts -- the standard red card worth 50 Gift Points, the Silver Gift Card worth either 100, 150, or 225 Gift Points, and the Gold Gift Card, which is worth 250 or 275 Gift Points.

Gift Bags

Gift Bags are obtained either as spawn by event objects or are deposited in your town by visiting Neighbors or friends, and tapping on them will result in the award of a random amount of Gift Points via the respective Gift Card or some other random prices.

Among the random Prizes that the Gift Bags left in your town by friends are Gold Coins (Gift Cards are more likely) and it should be stressed strongly that both the collection of these Gift Bags as well as the deposit of Gift Bags in your neighbor's towns are a critical element in unlocking the Community Prizes which are a highly desirable element in the holiday Special Event.

Holiday Game Content Expansion

In addition to the various special free, regular (Cash) priced store Items, Buildings, and objects, and the various Premium Items that you will be tempted to purchase with your hard earned Donuts, there is a third (generally free or attached to missions and quests) Content Expansion items and object list also associated with the Holiday Event.

You will want to keep an eye out for the special objects, Items, structures, and Characters that are part of the quest and mission or store system, but while you are about that you may also want to take notice that some key game improvements that are not necessarily part of the Special Event -- they just happen to have been added to the game as part of the special event Update and patch -- which are very important and useful elements.

Character Finder Tool

Strictly speaking this is NOT part of the Holiday or the Special Event - it is one of the game Content expansions that just happened to have been added during the Holiday Event via the event patch.

The Character Finder Utility Tool is a new box that appears in the upper left-hand-corner of the Game Play window that will display the icon for the character it is presently set to. The utility button is easily identified by the presence of the magnifying glass in the bottom-right-corner of the Icon itself.

To use the new Character Finder Util simply tap it with your finger and it will cycle through The Characters that are part of your Springfield.

As each new character appears in the Utility Icon the game will open their Quest Box to show you what quests as well as special missions (special missions are highlighted in yellow text) that they have available.

Not only does this new Utility make it wicked easy for you to locate a given character, but it also makes assigning them a Task so that they are not idle that much easier!

This is actually an option that players have been requesting from EA for more than a year -- in fact the first time that you use it you get a dialogue between Lisa and Homer that essentially communicates that fact.

Maintaining Forward Momentum

This is a very busy time of year in Springfield and Krustyland, so it is probably a good idea to remind you that in addition to keeping up with the requirements of the Special Event and its Missions and Quests, you should also be checking in on and maintaining your forward progress in other areas.

Consider this a Ticklist and suggested play pattern for the time being, but it would be a good idea for you to remember to do the following things at a minimum while you pursue all of the other activities, interests and yes, Tasks!

- = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = ** = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = -

Personal Prize / Present Unlocks

As you play the game you will naturally collect and accumulate Gift Cards and Gift Points in the course of each play session. Once you reach specifically set thresholds for Gift Points via the Gift Cards that you collect you will unlock the following Holiday and Event Objects, Items, or Personal Prizes / Personal Presents that you can then either add to your Town or your character's Inventory:

Gift Points Prize Name Premium Purchase
250 pts. Eggnog Bar 25D
1,500 pts. Holiday Tree 75D
3,000 pts. Springfield Mall 75D
6,000 pts. Elf Home 90D
10,000 pts. Springfield Skating Rink 110D
14,000 pts. Happy Elves Ride 150D
18,000 pts. Christmas Raccoon 175D
22,000 pts. Santa Flanders 200D
26,000 pts. Plow King's Plow 250D
30,000 pts. Costington's 310D

The meaning of the listing above should be very clear with the first columnh being the total amount of Gift Points required in order to unlock the item, followed by the Item Name which identifies the item, and finally the amount, in Donuts, that a player must spend in order to rapidly unlock the prize outside of the normal course of events.

Community Presents

This class of event reward was first widely introduced to players with the Community Presents that were part of the Halloween 2013 / Treehouse of Horror Event. If you were not here for this -- and that is too bad really because if you stop and think about it these were some pretty spiffy Prizes -- but anyway if you were not playing in October than you missed out on the following prezzies (listed by name then target amount of points in Goo that the community needed to reach):

  • First Church of Lard Lad (5 Billion Goo Points)

  • Clawing Zombie (10 Billion Goo Points)

  • Ghost Bomb (13 Billion Goo Points)

  • Frog Prince (20 Billion Goo Points)

  • King Homer's Skyscraper (30 Billion Goo Points)

Guide Image

This time around the holiday is a lot more formal and a bit older, at least in terms of its commercial and formal celebration, and that being the case it is reasonable to expect some really spiffy Community Prizes (not that the Community Prizes from Halloween sucked, all things being equal and just saying)...

Community Prize Name Target GC Community Points
Christmas Totem 450M Gift Cards / Points
Santa's Workshop 1B Gift Cards / Points
Ebenezer Burns 1.5B Gift Cards / Points
The Yes Guy 2B Gift Cards / Points
Candy Cooling Tower 2.5B Gift Cards / Points

See, what did we tell you? Older more venerable commercial holiday equals incredibly spiffy Prizes! Don't you love being a senior player in this online fantasy world? If you are not a Sr. Player yet, lucky for you we have your back mates! Just follow the Guide and you will get there in no time at all!

Section Reorganization

When the event started -- and for most of the event -- the Missions were listed in the order that they unlocked but now that the event is nearly over and, due primarily to the unpredictable way that some of the events (like the Community and Personal prize placement Missions) unfolded, we decided to reorganize them in alphabetical order, and here you go!

The Christmas 2013 Special Event Missions

The following missions and quests are an active part of the Christmas 2013 Holiday Event - see, it is not just wonderful snow-covered scenery...

As noted above, we have now reorganized the Missions in alphabetical order:

A Holiday Hymn

It seems that Ebenezer Burns has something to offer us - or rather has something to ignore us with? Wait... Whatever!

A Holiday Hymn Pt. 1 -- Make Ebenezer Burns Ignore Holiday Warning.

To complete this first part of the Mission have Ebenezer Burns complete the following Task:

Ignore Holiday Warning (1h) $70 and 17 XP.

Completing this Task also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

A Holiday Hymn Pt. 2 -- Make Ebenezer Burns Count His Money.

This time around it is a straight forward Task for Ebenezer to complete and one he will probably like. A lot. Have Burns do the following Task:

Count His Money (4h) $175 and 45 XP.

Completing this Task will also reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

A Holiday Hymn Pt. 3 -- Make Ebenezer Make Everyone Work on Christmas.

To complete this part of the Mission have Ebenezer (Burns) complete the following Task:

Make Everyone Work on Christmas (12h) $420 and 100 XP.

Completing this Task also awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

A Holiday Hymn Pt. 4 -- Make Ebenezer Burns Work on The Weapon.

To complete this part of the Mission have Ebenezer (Burns) complete the following Task:

Work on The Weapon (12h) $420 and 100 XP.

Completing this Task also awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

A Holiday Hymn Pt. 5 -- Make Ebenezer Burns Blast Holiday Spirits.

It seems that Mr. Burns plan is nearly complete - have him do the following Task to see just how complete that plan is:

Blast Holiday Spirits (24h) $600 and 150 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

The Cost of Doing Business

One of the coolest things about that long and drawn-out collecting of Gift Cards Quest was that at the end it paid off not only with a nice new Building for town -- Costington's Department Store -- but also in a new character --- Mr. Costington -- who has his OWN Holiday Mission to Flag!

The Cost of Doing Business Pt. 1 -- Make Mr. Costington Ruin Christmas.

To complete this first part of the Mission you need to have placed Costingtington's Department Store and have Mr. Costington free, then have him complete the following Task:

Ruin Christmas (4h) $175 and 45 XP.

Completing this Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

The Cost of Doing Business Pt. 2 -- Make Mr. Costington Intimidate Employees.

For this part of the Mission have Mr. Costington complete the following Task:

Intimidate Employees (4h) $175 and 45 XP.

Completing this Mission will also reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

The Cost of Doing Business Pt. 3 -- Make Mr. Costington Root Out Troublemakers.

For this part of the Mission have Mr. Costington complete the following Task:

Root Out Troublemakers (8h) $275 and 70 XP.

Completing this Mission will also reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

The Cost of Doing Business Pt. 4 -- Make Mr. Costington Spend a Fortune Monitoring Employees.

The Quests for this Mission appear to be growing longer in terms of time required, but you should have plenty of time to complete the Mission Line before the end of the event... For this part of the Mission you simply need to have Mr. Costington complete the following Task:

Spend a Fortune Monitoring Employees (12h) $420 and 100 XP.

Completing this Mission will also reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

The Cost of Doing Business Pt. 5 -- Make Mr. Costington Ruin Christmas.

To complete this part of the Mission you need to have Mr. Costington complete the following Task:

Ruin Christmas (4h) $175 and 45 XP.

Completing this Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Deck the Malls

Once you have collected 3000 Gift Cards you will receive the Springfield Mall Building in your storage box., which spawns this Mission. Simply place your Mall and you complete the Mission. Note that this is a very large building so you may need to budget purchasing a Land Expansion into the Mission.

Dollars to Donuts

This Holiday Special Event is tradition-bound to time delays in the sense that specific events have to take place in the game before other events -- and the Missions/Quests -- can move forward. A lot of those key events are dependent upon timers that are associated with objects or structures that you -- the player -- must place in your town.

The Dollars to Donuts Mission is the perfect example of this mechanism -- it is entirely reliant upon the production of Golden Coins by the Egg Nog Bar(structure/Building) that you must place in your town.

The Egg Nog Bar is a Gift Card / Point based prize that requires you to collect 250 Gift Cards before it will be unlocked and presented to you as one of the personal Prizes (connected to your collection of Gift Card / Points). But to actually collect the Gift Cards you need to first purchase for $2000 Cash the Present Depot (a monster-sized metal tree from which Presents are Spawned).

Actually you can obtain Gift Cards in other ways besides the Present Depot -- they can also be collected from Presents left in your town by visiting Neighbors, from Gift Bags and from some of your Characters doing limited time (event-related) Tasks. But the Present Depot is the preferred method to do this because placing it sets up a series of follow-on events.

Once you have the Egg Nog placed its timer starts -- and 24 hours later it produces a Gold Coin which Homer at first mistakes for a Chocolate Coin but Krusty soon sets him straight! The Gold Coin allows the player a spin in the Holiday Wheel Mini-Game.

The Holiday Wheel Mini-Game is a large spinning wheel with 10 sections, each of which has a prize and the player is able to play this mini-game using the Gold Coins, which are in fact Spin Tokens!

So now that you actually have a Spin Token, the Wheel will appear after you press the "Do It" button on the Mission Marker. As you can see the Prizes for this Mini-Game are incredible! You can win the following with a spin:

  • Bart Snowman (about a 14% Chance)

  • Christmas Blue House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Brown House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Cletus' Farm (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Flanders House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Krabappel Apartments (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Muntz House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Orange House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Pink House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Purple House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Simpson House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Skinner House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Van Houten House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas White House (about a 21% Chance)

  • Christmas Willie's Shack (about a 21% Chance)

  • Claus Company Building (about a 2% Chance)

  • Grampa Snowman (about a 14% Chance)

  • Helter Shelter Building (about a 3% Chance)

  • Homer Snowman (about a 14% Chance)

  • Ice God (about a 3% Chance)

  • Lisa Snowman (about a 14% Chance)

  • Maggie Snowman (about a 14% Chance)

  • Marge Snowman (about a 14% Chance)

  • Mr. Plow (about a 5% Chance)

  • Plow King (About a 5% Chance)

  • Santa's Little Helper Snowdog (about a 14% Chance)

  • Snowball II Snowcat (about a 14% Chance)

  • Snow Yeti Monster (about a 2% Chance)

Playing the game is simple: using your finger, spin the wheel clockwise by swiping it with your finger.

When you win a prize from the wheel a random remaining prize is selected to replace it, and the wheel is ready to go for another spin -- assuming that you have the Spin Token to spin it that is.

Building Prizes are usually automatically applied in the game, so in place of the snow-covered house for example you get the Christmas Version, which is covered in lights and Decorations!

The Egg Nog will spawn a new Sping Token / Gold Coin once its timer runs down in 24h so enjoy but be sure to collect your next Token because you never know which prize you will win -- and you want to win them all!

Do Unto Others

Clearly this Mission is intended to highlight the whole Neighbor Towns and sharing gifts function of the Christmas 2013 Event as it is automatically flagged as part of the initial gift box process and is automatically completed when you visit a Neighbor Town and share gifts with them by dropping a Gift Bag in their town.

Note: This Mission can be sped up by paying with Donuts to complete it but why you would choose to do that we simply cannot fathom!

This Mission and its Quests are identified by the red Gift Card Icon in the Mission Status Bar along the left side of the screen.

Egg Your Noggin'

The next Mission is a logical one -- now that you have obtained the 250 Gift Card Points that is required to unlock the first of the Personal Prezzies -- a new BAR -- and as it now occupies space in your Inventory, well then it is time to place it!

Really if you think about it that makes sense so the real question is, where do you place it? Considering that this is a Holiday and Special Event Item, it is a certainty that it will be interactive with your Neighbors so you want to stick it someplace very obvious so that when they visit they will not have to hunt hard to find it -- assuming that they want to find it that is.

Assuming that you have lots of friendly Neighbors and that you have built up good will during the previous neighbor-focused holidays, a good place to place this shack of eggy goodness would be in the same general area as you placed your Krustyland Shuttle, as they certainly know where that is, right? Another alternate location (assuming that you did not place it near the Shuttle) is near King Homer's Skyscraper or your collection of Parade Balloons...

Really the idea is to put it near something that is easy to locate in your town, and then place as many of the other visitor useful objects and structures near that area as well. Just saying...

Once you have it placed -- this is an instant build as it is the Building itself in your inventory and not a construction project -- you get a bit of worried dialogue with Homer, Moe, and Krusty, and then you get a reward!

Completing this Mission rewards you with 20 Gift Card Points and 10 XP.

The Face of the Holidays

Rest From the Wicked

Eventually -- in spite of the 2.5% odds of doing so -- you should manage to finally win the Homeless Shelter (Helter Shelter) from the Spinning Wheel Mini-Game. Once you do this Mission will unlock and Flag. All that you are required to do is simply place the Building and it will build and be done!

What are you waiting for? Place it!

Righteous Indignation

The primary event for this Holiday is the Christmas Event -- but that does not mean that New Year's Day was overlooked. In fact Homer gets a chance for some tongue-in-cheek Mission and Quest action vis-à-vis this social commentary on the matter of snow, long holidays, and his dissatisfaction with the way things are going... Specifically the paltry reward - but you will see that when you play it!

Righteous Indignation Pt. 1 (45s) Make Homer Complain on the Internet (x3)

Righteous Indignation Pt. 2 (45s) Make Homer Raise a Stink on the Forums (x3)

Righteous Indignation Pt. 3 (3m) Make Homer Stir Up Internet Hate (x3)

Righteous Indignation Pt. 4 (24h) Make Homer Back Off EA

Doing and completing this Mission results in a variety rewards including the traditional $100 and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing

The first mission in the Xmas 2013 event is unlocked by purchasing the

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 1 -- Purchase and Place the Present Depot (a very large metal monstrosity that is shaped -- well sort of -- like a Xmas Tree)...

This year's Xmas Quest System Trigger Object is this monstrous metal thingy that sort of looks like a tree. Being so ugly and large I ended up deciding that it really belonged on the Boardwalk by the water, as the "Community" Xmas Monster err Thingy as opposed to being placed in the Simpson Yard, which I think is where most people place it.

If you too choose to place the Christmas Monster Tree on your Boardwalk, you don't have to worry about prezzies ending up in the water either - they float!

Completing this quest in the mission Too Much of a Good Thing rewards you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Completion of this quest spawns the Holiday 2013 Event Guide pop-up Window -- a mini guide that explains the event in simple terms: Tap presents to collect Gift Cards and Spin Tokens; Collect Gift Cards to win 10 exclusive Holiday Event Gifts; Drop Gift Bags in friends' towns to help work towards unlocking the 5 special Community Prizes.

In addition to the above information the mini-Guide pop-up window also includes, along the bottom edge, a Countdown Timer that shows how much time you have remaining to accomplish all of the goals, missions, quests, and Gift Card Collecting -- and the notice that the event ends on 7 January 2014.

You can re-display the pop-up window by tapping the special Christmas Event Count Status line on the bottom left side of the screen (the line with the count for Gift Cards, Gift Boxes, and a "?" mark (the "?" is what you tap to get the pop-up window to return).

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 2 -- Collect Presents

Once you have collected the required number and amount of presents to complete this part of the Mission you will unlock and complete it and receive 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP as the result.

Note: The bulk of the presents that you will use for this part of the mission will be spawned by the metal Christmas tree object that you purchased and placed to complete Part 1 of this Mission Chain -- you will know that it is about to spawn presents because it makes a God-awful racket of sirens and alarm sounds before doing so.

Once it has spawned presents simply tap on each of the wrapped gifts to reveal its true contents and collect them!

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 3 -- Have Lisa Make Snow Angels and Homer Make a Snowman.

The goals for this part of the Mission Chain are simple enough -- just have Lisa and Homer Simpson complete the following Tasks:

Homer: Make a Snowman (16h) 50 Gift Cards and 125 XP

Lisa: Make Snow Angels (6h) 22 Gift Cards and 55 XP

Completing this set of quests will result in a reward of 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 6 -- Make Apu Celebrate Pancha Ganapati

Poor Apu must be miserable over the holiday -- after all Christmas is sort of a Western European slash those who like that sort of thing thing... Not an Indian thing. Besides can you really imagine Shiva coming down your chimney? Just saying.

To complete this part of the mission, have Apu complete the following Task:

Celebrate Pancha Ganapati (8h) 27 Gift Cards and 70 XP.

Completing this task also rewards 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 7 -- Make Cletus Count Up Family Members.

This part of the Mission simply requires you to have Cletus free and have him complete the following Task:

Count Up Family Members (24h) 60 Gift Cards and 150 XP.

Completing this Task also awards you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 8 -- Make Krusty use Credit to Pay Off Credit.

Use Credit to Pay Off Credit (16h) 50 Gift Cards and 125 XP.

Completing this Task also awards you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 9 -- Mke Milhouse Build a House of Gift Cards.

For this one you will need Milhouse free, and have him complete the following Task:

Build a House of Gift Cards (12h) 42 Gift Cards and 100 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 10 -- Make Springfielders Eat at a Restaurant.

For this one you will need 12 residents available but be sure that they are not the ones that you need for other Tasks and Missions! The following list of Characters can be used for this group Task:

  1. Agnes Skinner

  2. Arnie Pye

  3. Booberella

  4. Bumblebee Man

  5. Carl

  6. Cletus

  7. Chalmers

  8. Comic Book Guy

  32. Ned Flanders *

  33. Otto

  34. Patty

  44. Suzanne the Witch

  45. The Yes Guy *

  46. Wiggum

  47. Willie the Groundskeeper

  48. Wolfecastle

The Characters marked with an * while eligible may not be a good idea to use since they have some ongoing Missions that they are involved with. Homer is not on the list because he has a significant number of Missions outstanding and you will likely already have him committed to them.

The reason that we included this list is specifically in case you have already completed the 30,000 Gift Card Collection Mission and unlocked Costington's Department Store, in which case you will have ALSO unlocked the special Mission called "Christmas Bonus!" which pays out a Spin Token for every 1000 Gift Cards you collect in addition to the 30,000 you needed to complete that main Mission.

Considering that this is just a 4h Task, sending as many of your Characters as is possible is a really good idea particularly since they will each receive 17 Gift Cards for doing it!

Eat at a Restaurant (12h) 17 Gift Cards and 45 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 11 -- Make Springfielders Enjoy a Beer.

For this one you will need another 12 residents available -- or the same as long as they are of-age -- for this group Task:

Enjoy a Beer (12h) 17 Gift Cards and 45 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 12 -- Make Springfielders Shop for Loved Ones.

For this one you will need another 12 residents available -- or the same -- for this group Task:

Shop for Loved Ones (6h) 22 Gift Cards and 55 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 13 -- Make Lisa Ponder the Meaning of the Holidays.

For this one you will need to have Lisa complete the following Task:

Ponder the Meaning of the Holidays (24h) 60 Gift Cards and 150 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 14 -- Make Springfielders Overeat.

Another mass-Quest for your town's residents, this time around you need to get at least 12 of them to go out and overeat... Which means completing the following Task:

Guide Image

Overeat (8h) 27 Gift Cards and 70 XP (each character).

Bear in mind that as this is a holiday quest it pays off in Gift Cards -- and assuming that you have obtained the initial 30K Gift Cards (you should have by now) then having as many residents as you can (be sure that you do not commit any that need to be tasked to another quest tho) do this will mean perhaps an extra spin of the wheel for the Spinning Wheel Mini-Game. Just saying...

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 15 -- Make Springfielders Drink Too Much..

For this one you will need to have 12 Springfielders complete the following Task:

Drink Too Much (8h) 27 Gift Cards and 70 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 16 -- Make Springfielders Stampede Stores..

Yet another group activity but this time around it is an activity that I can sort of understand -- after all, when the holidays are over that is when the really good deals can be had for games and game accessories -- and hey, entertainment these days is all about games and gaming, right? So for this one you will need to have at least 12 Springfielders (but preferably more) complete the following Task:

Stampede Stores (12h) 42 Gift Cards and 100 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 17 -- Make Lisa Destroy Gift Cards..

As clear as it is it is still not very clear, but it is time once again to have Lisa Simpson destroy some Gift Cards -- the root of all evil shopping! make certain that Lisa is available and then have her complete the following Task:

Destroy Gift Cards (1h) 7 Gift Cards and 17 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 18 -- Make Homer and Lisa Hide from Springfielders..

It seems that Lisa's actions have upset the town -- it is time to run! Well, run and then have Homer and Lisa -- and the townsfolk -- complete the following Tasks:

Homer & Lisa: Hide from Sprigfielders (24h) 60 Gift Cards and 150 XP.

12 Townsfolk: Hunt for The Simpsons (8h) 27 Gift Cards and 70 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 19 -- Make Lisa Read the Fine Print..

If it feels like we are getting close to the end of this very long, very involved Mission, well, that is because we are! Now that Homer and Lisa have succeeded in hiding out after Lisa was observed doing something that instantly set off the kill-mode for most of Springfield, it is time for her to dig into the secret behind this odd town-wide windfall.... So make sure that Lisa is free and available and then have her complete the following Task:

Read Fine Print (12h) 42 Gift Cards and 100 XP.

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP.

Too Much of a Good Thing Pt. 20 -- Collect Presents x50.

Thanks to Lisa's research she has discovered a way out of this credit conundrum, though not all of the citizens of Springfield are entirely on board with the whole wait-it-out plan. But who thought they would be?!

Right. So. With any luck you will have made it this far and have flagged this last and final Quest in the Too Much of a Good Thing Mission with plenty of time left. And considering that EA added en entire extra week to this Mission for its Quests, you really should be able to manage this!

What is left is not so much a Task -- well, technically it isn't a Task is it? No, it is more of an effort as in you need to make the effort to collect 50 of the presents that have been spawning everywhere thanks to the SNAFU at Claus Co.

Bear in mind that this is not Gift Cards that the counter is counting - it is the presents / gift bags (in other words the packages) that are being counted. So all that you need to do for this is wait while a total of at least 50 gifts spawn and then collect them!

Completing this will also reward you with 20 Gift Cards and 10 XP and nicely completes the main quest line for the Christmas 2013 / New Year's 2014 Event. So hey! Well done you! Brilliant!

I guess that means you will not need to worry about the holidays again for another year - and whew, considering how time-and-play-intensive this was that is really good news because I don't know about you but my fingers are exhausted!

- = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = ** = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = -

You have now completed the Christmas 2013 Special Holiday Event - and well done you! Good on ya! Well hopefully you have -- in fact there is no good reason why you did not complete all of the side-quests and collections prior to reaching the end of the Too Much... Mission. Just saying!
