Finally we get a Simpsons game worth remembering. Hit and Run lives up to the TV show's name. It's funny and enjoyable. Since TV show and movie-based games usually are no better than average this is really good for it's type. Well here's my review on this game.
The graphics are pretty good. They can't get much better in cartoon world though. They have some pretty nice touches and detail but it looks a little sharp in some places. There are a few special effects too but when the characters are talking to each other their mouths are just moving, they don't look like they are saying any words at all.
There are plenty of funny comments and the voice-overs are pretty cool. I like a lot of the music too but some of it is tedious. Take an 8. It's pretty good overall but definately not the best you hear. I like the tune you hear when driving Otto's school bus though.
The game's main inspiration is Grand Theft Auto which is no bad thing. The controls are good enough and most of the missions are pretty fun. Even though you ahve to do a little backtracking here and there it's pretty darn fun overall. The occasional dull missions spoils it though.
There's plenty of gameplay involved, and a lot to come back to. It's also a game you'd like to play again. The problem is it's a little on the short side and in one day I started again and got all the way to Lisa in no more than two hours. And I was on Marge an hour later (the next day that is). Well it's still a game you can come back to.
Very good. Very funny and overall a very good game. A few minor moans though but overall it's worth it. It could be a bit longer though. If you're a Simpsons fan then you should get this without question. If not then try the game if you like the type of game, you might actually enjoy it.
