Now that you are back in town - and before you proceed up the street here and through the gate to begin the next level -- why not explore the town some more? There are actually quite a few things you can do and even a few quests you can begin though perhaps not finish in this mode...

Adding the Characters you have Unlocked to your Collection

Purchasing Characters that you have Unlocked

If you head past the Police HQ building you will find Wyld (Hood) waiting to be purchased by the Build Box - do go ahead and buy her!

Heading up the street will take you to Mrs. Scratchen-Post who you can now purchase!

Nearby her is Emmet (Pajamas) you can also buy - and you should!

Near the Ice Cream Truck is Ice Cream Jo - and you may as well add her to your character collection, right?

Quests and Actions in the City

In addition to collecting Studs - which is a very good idea - and purchasing the characters you have already unlocked, there are some other things you can do before heading to the next great adventure in the game, starting with some anarchist re-signing!

Situated throughout the area are billboards that you can alter to read an anarchist message - so do that!

In addition to changing signs there there is a set of three Instructions you can get a head-start on collecting (though you will need to be in FreePlay and have some additional characters to collect them all mind you). The first page can be had by doing a little Drilling in the corner.

Remember you are having fun!

Collecting Studs, Instructions, and Changing some Signs...

With this bit managed it is time to head to the now opened gate and begin the next adventure level for our story properly! Well, sadly and properly - but you will see...]

Heading Through the Gate

After completing your Escape from Bricksburg and landing in the by now familiar street you will note that the gate that was previously closed is now open - a gate that, when you pass through it, zones you into the next area and mission zone: Flatbush Gulch.

Two things happen here - one, you have a very surreal and out of control landing -- and when I say landing what I mean is very extended and rough and tumble fall through some very awkward and hard surfaces during which you should probably try to collect as many Studs as you can.

The second event is less desirable in that all of the lies you have been telling suddenly blow up in your face as you behave in a fashion that is completely the opposite of what The One would do - the result being not only does Wyld suddenly realize you are not who you have said you are -- The One -- but that she has committed herself to following a person who not only does not have all the answers, but knows less than she does!

Revelations of the depth of your ignorance are unlimited - you even admit in a duplicitous way that you have no clue what a Master Builder is! What is worse, I can really appreciate how Wyld feels - you really are an SOB.

Entering the new world and timeline is anything but smooth!

A Hard but Truthful Landing

Once you are in control and able to actually move where you want to go again -- and having really killed the enthusiasm that Wyld previously had (I wonder if she will be calling us "Sir" after this?) -- you pretty much now need to try to repair this relationship since you are pretty much at her mercy, right?

This is actually a relatively short level, which means it is easy to not end up getting everything you need from it and in particular in terms of the Studs Collection - for example I only managed to obtain 99% my first time through. But you can replay so try not to place too much emphasis upon it...

Wyld pretty much unloads on you but before that conversation can really develop she spots Evil Robots - and lets you know you have to get rid of them... Well we only know one way to get rid of Evil Robots -- Attack!

Once the bots are done for, have Wyld climb the barn on the left and open the door so that you can kill off the Evil Robots inside and grab the first of the two Instruction Pages.

With that managed, head to the right and get the Evil Robot up above to strategically throw the dynamite until you have blown up the Silver Rocks, clearing access to the Drill Point. Switch to Emmet and use his Drill to demolish the bottom section of the Windmill, then using Wyld climb up and deploy the ladder so that Emmet can repair the Windmill, thus obtaining the second Instruction Page.

The Path to Building the Wagon in the Hopes of Fitting in!

Build the Wagon

With the set of Instructions in hand, head over to the Build Machine and build the Wagon, then go inside and change into local garb -- including six-shooters woohoo!

Now practice with the six-shooters by shooting the targets - one on the fence, one on the wagon - to create the Master Build, then have Wyld complete that and grab one of the horses and use it in the Master Build Device to raise the gate.

Fitting In in the Saloon

On your way to the Saloon Wyld gives you a brief history lesson about the reality that you are facing, and in the process Emmet lets slip some seriously important information about the end of the world. Seriously.

The whole point behind the disguise that Wyld arranged for you was in hopes of fitting in and not drawing the attention of the Evil Bots -- thing is, well, you are not going to succeed at that. Sorry mates...

For one thing it is already a wide-open bar fight, and for another some yunk starts chucking dynamite! The Evil Bots pretty much figure out you don't belong there straight away, and the battle commences!

Actually that part works to your advantage since he is aiming the dynamite at YOU - so you can stand on or near the Silver objects to get him to chuck dynamite at them and blow them up for you!

Once you have all of them destroyed, you use Wyld to climb up the left side of the balcony, take out the bots and the dynamite chucker, then complete the Master Build on the other side to make a ladder for Emmet to climb.

With Emmet complete the repair in the right-hand corner, which gives Wyld access to the bloke she came to meet -- the Wizard!

She speaks with him and they set a meeting time - and that officially ends the level! Well done you!

Bearing in mind that if you were not paying close attention to Stud count you may not get 100% on this the first time through (I did not) but you can fix that later so no worries mates.

Navigating the challenge of the Saloon in order to track down the Wizard

The Summary Screen

The level ends and, naturally as you succeeded in completing the main goals you have now unlocked the FreePlay Mode for this level as well.

You hear the welcome Ding! of an Achievement unlocking as "Are You a DJ" (20G) Complee Level 3 - Flatbush Gulch unlocks. Well done you!

Character Unlocks

In addition to the to-be-expected bits above, you also unlock some new characters - remember though they are just unlocked - you still need to actually purchase them in order to add them to your collection of characters!

Completing the third level unlocks the following characters:

  • Emmet (Old West)

  • Wyldstyle (Old West)

  • Sir Stack-a-Brick

  • Prospector

  • Native

  • Wiley Fusebot

  • Robo Cowboy

Gold Bricks

If you obtained 100% of the total for the Stud Collection you will unlock the Special Gold Brick for that, if not, then the only Gold Brick you unlock is the default Gold Brick for completing the Level.

Either way at this point the Studs you did collect are added to your banked total, and the Level now officially ends.
