Introduction

Based from the game that was rated as Game of the year for 2002, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GotY Edition, has deffinatly proved worthy of this honor. I know at first I was skeptical about this game, at first I didn't think I'd like it at all, but after playing and getting used to the format, I developed a high level character and was able to do the things that I wanted to do as a level 0. The addition of Tribunal and BloodMoon makes for an extensive level of playing. When one gets stuck on a task in Morrowind, one can take a hop, skip and a jump to Solthsthiem and become emersed into a wonderland of forest and snow, or transport to Mournhold, and discover what secrets lye under the city or what is going on with the Goddess and the King. Personally, It is a role-playing game that has all other RPG's beat.

Graphics

The Graphics are done well, minus some of the rare 2-D bushes and trees. Overall, graphics are breath taking and very realistic. It is almost as if you could walk into your television and feel the snow as it falls or the sand in Ald-ruhn during a sand storm. I gave it a 8/10 because, I feel that this was just a stepping stone to something greater. I have heard that in Oblivion the graphics outdo the graphics in this elder scrolls game. Like I said, you couldn't have gotten that without this one.

Sound

The sound was great, although, I must admit that the cliff racer's sound was quite annoying after hearing it several times, but that goes for most creatures that are very common in Morrowind. I gave the sound a score of 7/10 because I felt that even though the sound was well done, it was also very repetitive.

Gameplay

9/10, most of the gameplay was flawless. Everynow and then there would be a glitch or two i'd run into, but I can't totally blame that on the game itself without knowing how it played on other gamer's machines. I know that for the layout of the game flowed, deffinatly took you and placed you in the drivers seat and said, "Here, take the wheel. Complete this in any way you deem necesary." Gives the gamer total control of thier charactor and thier actions.

Lastability

There is always something new to do, wether it may be, shopping for ingrediants for a potion you want to make and sell, or use; or to exploring unexplored territory to find a rare item or find someone to get help or justice from. One can deffinatly get caught in this game!

Overall

Overall, The game keeps you interested, and once you choose the right kind of character for you, time will fly by and each time you gain a level sends you on an internal, emotional high. Set your goals and become your character. Grab the wheel and say "lets go!" You'll never know how well you like it until you've played the Game of the Year Edition of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Final Score: 88%
