Here are our best cheats, tips and tricks for this fast paced racer from Ubisoft.
If you've been playing The Crew 2 and managed to collect a lot of cars, importing them to TCM is a great way of maintaining your progress. Doing this is easy and can be performed when starting a new save file in TCM.
When launching The Crew Motorfest for the first time, you'll be prompted to either start from scratch and select one of the game's default starter vehicles or import your vehicle and vanity collection from the previous game. Importing your collection from the previous game is a one-way process. This means if you have imported them to TCM and for some reason you want to play The Crew 2 again, your collection won't be there anymore. Another option is you can start the game from scratch then import the collection later. As a reminder, some vehicle categories like helicopters and hovercrafts can't be imported. Vehicles that are not available on both games can't be imported either.
Among the three starter vehicles that you can pick at the beginning of the game, the BMW Z4 M40i is a highly recommended choice because of its perfect balance of performance and handling. Remember that if you have the Year 1 Pass, you will have additional starter vehicles to choose from which may have better stats than the default starters.
Once you have Legends points, access your Profile then go to the Driver section. You can then use your Legends Points to the Rich option which will increase your payout by 1% per level up to a maximum of 20%. This will build up over time and as you clear races with higher payout, the more this multiplier's effect becomes noticeable.
The Crew Motorfest races can be quite intense and crashes or mistakes will happen. Thankfully, you can use the Rewind function that will allow you to rewind your movement in real time for a few seconds. Imagine you have missed a turn or oversteered around a corner that caused your car to crash or spin out of control. You can turn back time up to the point before that mistake is made so you can proactively correct it and prevent it from happening in the first place. Try to get comfortable with this very useful feature as it can help you correct mistakes that would otherwise cost you a win.
This feature becomes available after completing the Hawaii Scenic Tour. You'll then receive a boat and a plane which you can freely switch to at the push of a button. Of course, if you're just traveling from one location to the other, traveling using your plane will cover more distance faster. You won't need this feature that much once you unlock the fast travel feature later in the game but this can be quite useful in the early hours of your playthrough.
You can get Perf Parts for completing event objectives. These parts range from engine blocks, exhaust, transmission, suspension, and more. Equipping these parts can improve various attributes of your vehicle which can give you considerable advantage during races. Always check the Vehicles section of your main menu to check whenever you have new upgrades that can be applied to your vehicles. The amount of attribute boost a part can add to your car will depend on its rarity and power level. Rare parts can also include Affixes or sub-attributes that provide various beneficial effects like increased payouts or improved capability on certain terrains. The higher the part's rarity, the more affixes it will most likely have.
It's also worth noting that you can't freely swap out the parts. Once you install it to a vehicle, it becomes bound to it until you replace it with another part. That's why you should also consider installing upgrade parts only on the vehicles that you'll use most of the time.
Racing events in The Crew Motorfest usually rely on checkpoints. That said, you're not really forced to stay on the road or obey traffic rules, obviously. Tracks in the game usually have great shortcuts that you can take to shave off seconds of your time. These shortcuts are normally hidden behind environmental obstacles like tire stacks and hedges and they're quite easy to miss. If you feel something's off about a specific part of the track, try to experiment and go through it. If your hunch is wrong, just use the rewind button to get back on track.
