Brain of Cthulhu[/strong

Guide Image

The Brain of Cthulhu can be summoned by breaking Crimson Hearts, the Crimsons version to the Corruptions Shadow Orbs. It can also be summoned by using a Bloody Spine (15 Vertebrae & 30 Vicious Powder which is made from Vicious mushrooms that grow in the Crimson Biome)

The Crimson is a bit more manageable than the Corruption in that most of the above ground tunnels will lead to the center area of the Crimson.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT leave the Crimson biome when battling the Brain of Cthulhu. Doing so will cause him to retreat and despawn.

The Brain of Cthulhu functions a bit like the Eye of Cthulhu. It hovers around you summoning Creepers that die pretty easily provided you keep the pressure on them. You may opt to construct an Arena in the center area of the Crimson.

The Arena layout should have more verticality than usual. Since the Crimson has background walls, you may just use Wood Platforms to set up the arena.

Quick Tip: When smashing hearts, it is advisable to smash the furthest ones first. Because when you break the third heart, the Brain spawns and you will have to run a ways back to your Arena.

The Brain of Cthulhu has two phases. The first phase is where it is casually moving around you and relying on its creepers to fight you. But unlike the Eye of Cthulhu, it cannot be damaged during this phase. Focus your attacks on the Creepers.

Its attack pattern revolves around teleporting behind you and summoning the creepers to itself. Doing so causes the creepers to crash into you. Avoid this by moving perpendicular to the path of the creepers and continue attacking them.

It is also advisable to pick up the items the creepers drop as they may fall off into deeper parts of the chasm.

Once all the creepers are dead, the brain will split and reveal its second phase. In this phase, it will retain its some of its normal attack patterns but mix it up by sometimes moving in hard to predict angles. It will be aggressive but it has very little HP at this phase. Keep the pressure and it will be brain dead soon enough.
