Super Mario 64 DS is a great update of a absolutely classic game, why everything you saw in Super Mario 64 is there, they have added extra's for are enjoyment aswell! New elements have been added like for example, You can now play as 4 Mario characters, them being Yoshi, Mario, Luigi and Wario. And unlike many games (Such as Mario Bros, and Mario Bros 3) this game has not been leaked out as much as they can to gain more money, this is the first update of a truly awesome game.
Although there not the best for the a new generation console, they are taken from a previous generation console, and they have spiced up some (may i say many) parts of the game with great new graphics. Stuff such as stars looking different, updated colour texture etc makes the graphics look even better than before, but if they did just a little more work on the Graphics this could have been concidered one of the best games graphically for the Nintendo DS.
They have kept the sound true to the previous version of the game why adding some more drum, etc to the loops, a very nice sound. Some of the most famous soundtracks to any games are in here, and now you can relive all the memories again within a handheld console, pretty smart huh?
Although very smooth, slick and nice to play, there are some disadvantages to the game. For example because of the limited buttons on the DS, the Camera angle has to be changed in an unusual manner, and other things that make the game more difficult. The way the buttons are configured are a mess, but once you get over that this game becomes a gem.
Just like Super Mario 64 the lastability is limitless, its one of the best games ever, updated for the DS, cant get any better can it not? for lastability this is a winner. Since the Nintendo 64 this game has had the lastability of a lifespan, and now with even more stars to collect and other extras, well it will be a damn long time before you take this one out of your DS.
A very nice Update of a absolute classic of a game, there are a few things that change the game for the worse, for example the camera angle, the fact that you have to hold two buttons to go faster, and getting around levels has never been any harder, but altogether this game is definetely advised, truly its a classic.
