The Sydney edition of subway surfers: World Tour is the fourth one to be released, and it became available to the public in April 2013. As had become standard by this point, Sydney included both a new character and a new board. Sydney added stunning blue skies as the backdrop to the game.
The new character was Kim, available for 95,000 coins. She has a surfer-style appearance and is dressed well-suited to the Australian climate. The new hoverboard is called Outback, available for 50,000 Coins. It has a special ability whereby you are protected from crashing for 30 seconds.
This update also added Keys to the game. Keys are designed to extend a run in the game, allowing you to continue even after you have fallen from your board. The cost of reviving doubles over time, depending on how often you use them. Initially, it will only cost you one key. You can use Keys to also unlock special outfits for certain characters.
You are able to find Keys during a run, and also by searching Mystery Boxes. Finally, you can purchase Keys, but only using real money. Remember, you can only use Keys for a short period of time after crashing - if you wait too long you will miss your chance.
This edition added the Weekly Hunt, which challenges you to collect a certain amount of tokens each week. The tokens are usually themed to each edition, and can be in difficult places to reach.
