Each minigame has it's own method of winning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is a minigame? [I2] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A minigame is a game inside a game which allows you to win things usually for the game. In Patapon 2, this is the case. Each minigame wins different thing and depending on how well you played it, you can win better things. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How do I access the minigames? [I3] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, to be able to play the minigames, you have to complete a level and you may pick up a certain cap. Depending on which cap you find, you will unlock a different minigame. Once you have gotten the cap, go to Mater, the tree of life, and press X. This will bring the cap to life. Once the cap turns into a Patapon, it will head off to the left rather than with all the other soldiers to the right. If you follow it, it will go past the dancing people and out of the screen. Wait a while and the (L) button will appear in the top-left hand corner of the screen. Press (L) and it will move the screen over to one of the minigames. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What do I need for the minigames? [I4] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All the games require Ka-ching (apart from the dancing game) and some of the games require items. The amount of Ka-ching you need to play is 50 for Level 1, 100 for Level 2 and 150 for Level 3. As for items, only the Smithing and Dancing minigames require them. For the smithing game, you require either the level 2 Ore (Hard Iron) or the level 5 ore (Adamanman/Adamantite. It depends on which version of the game you have). For the dancing game, you can give any item and depending on which one you give, you will be rewarded with Ka-ching. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Levels [I5] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Each minigame has its own level which is similar to difficulty. To unlock the next level, you must successfully finish the highest level a couple of times. Once you finish the level, it will say 'You learned a new rhythm for next time'. This just means that you unlocked the next level. There are only 3 levels and each level gets you different things, although they are all similar (for example, the Mountain minigame will only get you ores no matter which level you play it at). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Minigames [M1] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are 7 different minigames in Patapon 2. Learn to play them well and you'll have a better army, more materials and you should be better at the rhythm of Patapon. Below are listed all the minigames, what you do in them and where to find the respectful cap. It will also tell you what type of material you can win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tree Minigame [M2] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Patapon: Pan the Pakapon Name of Figure: Ubo Bon Location of Cap: ~Juju Jungle Course~ All you have to do is keep destroying the structures in your path. In the Tree minigame, you will have to press the (O) button accordingly to what Ubo Bon the tree says. For example, if it says 'Bon bon bon', you would press (O)_(O)_(O) in rhythm to what he said. If Ubo Bon says 'Bobon bon bon', that means (O) twice in one beat so (O)(O)_(O)_(O). Bobon means that you must press it twice in one beat, Bobobon means three times in one beat and Bon means once. Rewards: You can win a variety of things from this game. You can win: -Bones -Fangs -Hides -Woods -Meats You will also receive a hell of a lot of leaves, but they're worthless so don't expect them to be of any use. The grade of materials you can win are: -Grade 1 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 2 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 3 (Level 2 and 3 only.) -Grade 4 (Level 3 only.) This means that you can win Super Cedars, Ottama Bones and Nazozo Fangs along with Mystery Meat and Mezura Hides. This minigame can help you a lot for getting a better army, but if you're looking to get a level 5 material to make a Sabara, Gyaba or Mogyu then you've got the wrong minigame. The great thing about the tree game is that it doesn't really have any difficult bits. All you need to be able to do is identify the things that the tree says and press (O) accordingly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flower Minigame [M3] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Patapon: Fah Zakpon Name of Figure: Pop Bean Location of cap: ~Centura in the Fog Lv. 3~ Beat Centura once to get the Centura Egg, three times to get the Zakpon Cap. In the Flower Minigame, there are two parts. The first part will involve green circles going across the screen and when they get to the line at the left, you need to press (O). In the second part, all you have to do is note which pattern the vegetables are flung out (So if they are flung out 1, 2, a gap then 3, then you must press (O)(O)_(O) when the first vegetable is on the screen). Note that if you tap (O) while the vegetables are coming down then you won't get all of them, you'll probably only get one of them. Time it right, and you'll get em' all. Rewards: Vegetables. That's all you can win. Just plain ol' vegetables. The grade of vegetables that you can win are: -Grade 1 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 2 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 3 (Level 2 and 3 only.) -Grade 4 (Level 3 only. Quite rare though.) This is not my favourite minigame, but it has to be done if you're wanting a good army of Megapons or Toripons, and I'm pretty sure you need vegetables for Robopons too. Basically, get good at it for when you might need a large quantity of vegetables. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mountain Minigame [M4] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Patapon: Kon Kimpon Name of Figure: Rumble Thump Location of cap: ~Training: Nanjaro Hill Course~ This level is made solely to practice using and timing your Pon Pata songs and your Chaka Chaka songs. However, I find it to be a good way to get Ka-ching and equipment. Once you beat the level once, you'll get the Kimpon cap. In the Mountain Minigame, you will see the toes light up in a certain pattern. Once they've finished lighting up, press the (O) button in the same pattern to proceed to the next bit. Do this four times and the mountain baby thing will give you its rocky tears as a gift. Rewards: Rock Tears, otherwise known as Ores. The grade of ores that you can win are: -Grade 1 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 2 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 3 (Level 2 and 3 only.) -Grade 4 (Level 3 only. Quite rare though.) I like this minigame. All of it, except for one thing. Whenever you get it wrong, it's likely that the mountain will say something like how you got it wrong, and if it doesn't then don't expect anything good. When it says something like 'No!', it will also smash about which tends to put me off beat. No wonder no-one wants to play with him... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cooking Minigame [M5] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Patapon: Rah Gashapon Name of Figure: Simmer Slurp Location of Cap: ~Firebird Fenicchi Lv. 3~ Depending on which version of the game you have, the name of the boss will be different. For me, it was Firebird Fenicchi. Other than that, it's the same level. All you have to do is teeter it after level 3. For a better chance of teetering, use ice weapons to freeze it first. In the Cooking Minigame, the giant pot thing will toss ingredients in at a certain pace. Just cut them using the (O) button whenever they look close enough to cut. Just make sure that you cut the last one though. It comes in at a different speed and angle than the others so watch out because if you don't slice it then it will hit the chef, which is quite funny to watch, but only if you plan on reloading the game after. Rewads: Stews of all kinds. Stews will be available as soon as you make your first one. The grade of stews that you can make are: -Grade 1 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 2 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 3 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 4 (Levels 2 and 3 only.) -Grade 5 (Level 3 only. Must get all things cut.) This minigame has to be in the top 3 because it's so easy and if you get Devil's Stew (Level 5 Stew) then your Patapon army will have a large Health boost. It will also give them 8 more damage to both minimum and maximum. Their CnC will increase by 20% as will their Ignite, Freeze and Sleep rates. I don't really use them very often but it's good to have in case if you can't beat a level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Smithing Minigame [M6] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Patapon: Ton Kampon Name of Figure: Fwoosh Famoose Location of Cap: ~Ancient Guardian Manboroth Lv. 3~ Just beat Manboroth twice and when you're fighting it for the third time, if you teeter it, then it should drop the Kampon Cap. You can't freeze this boss so there's no helpful ways to teeter it. Just hit it a lot and I would suggest using the Kibapon Hero if you're having trouble with it. Equip a Great Fire Lance, if you have one and enter Hero Mode. In this Minigame, you must offer Ton Kampon both Ka-ching (depending on which level you're playing) and also either Hard Iron or Adamanman/Adamantite. Once you've offered whatever, you'll have to press the (O) button one beat after the giant anvil presses the gas thing with it's foot. If you succesfully do this in one round then it will speed up for the next. Do this again and it will speed up again. If you get the third round right then it will slow down no matter what. If you successfully hit the material, the anvil will give you an alloy at the end. But if you offer Adamanman and if you get it all right then you will get a Magic Rune weapon, which are the best weapons in the game. I've never gotten one myself, but I hear they're better than awesome. The grade of alloys that you can win are: -Grade 1 (Any difficulty. Hard Iron only.) -Grade 2 (Any difficulty. Hard Iron only.) -Grade 3 (Any difficulty. Hard Iron only.) -Grade 4 (Any difficulty. Adamanman only.) You can also win Magic Rune Weapons from this minigame, but you have to be in Level 2 or higher and offer Adamanman. This minigame has to be second to last in the order of which I like them most. However, it is probably most important, as this is the only way you can get Magic Rune Weapons. So I would suggest getting good at it. Also, a tip: When trying for a Magic Rune weapon, don't continue if you didn't get one. Just start again and reload. It will save you a lot of material neccessary for for some of the classes of Patapons. So, to recap, don't fail, and if you do, try it again after reloading it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dancing Minigame [M7] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Patapon: Shuraba Yapon Name of Figure: Kururu Beruru Location of Cap: Mission 14: The Sky Castle where God lives After you destroy the eye, it will drop the Yapon Cap so pick that up. Firstly, you must offer anything to Shuraba Yapon (any material). Just choose something quitecommon like tender meat as you can get that by killing a Mochichi. Then, depending on which level of difficulty you chose, you will get Ka-ching in return. Simple, right? Yeah, it IS that easy. In the Dancing game, the bell will first drop down and turn into a dancer with a very weird voice (sounds a bit like a donkey to me...). Then, it will give a tutorial. Skip it if you wanna read my version instead, otherwise continue with the tutorial. The notes will go across the screen and you just press the (O) button when they get to the line, just like the Flower Minigame. When there is a giant chain of these, tap the (O) button as fast as you can because the more you press it, the more Ka-ching you get. Rewards: There are two rewards from this game. The first one is Ka-ching. The second one is feeling sorry for the dancer and that she has that voice. The levels of difficulty affect how much Ka-ching you get, as do the materials. You can actually get 700 Ka-ching from level 3 using Tender Meat. There's a video of it on Youtube if you search for it. This minigame is only good at level 3, and only if you're in dire need of Ka-ching for another minigame. 'Til then, you'll just have to put up with it (but that's just my opinion). Just don't do anything stupid like offering a Demon Bone or something cos' you really need the Ka-ching. Just give it some Tender Meat and go hunting if you need some. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alchemy Minigame [M8] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name of Patapon 1: Tsun Tunpon Name of Patapon 2: Tsuku Tsukupon Name of Figure: ????? (Need someone to tell me....) Location of Cap: ~Huge Manboth in Kochikachi Lake Lv. 3~ Just teeter it and use the same tactics explained in the Ton Kampon section. In this minigame, you will have the notes scrolling across the screen and when they get to the line, you press ([]) or (O) depending on whether it's blue or red. Blue means ([]) and red means (O). When a long line gets there, hold down the button. Simple! There's also a tutorial if you need it. Rewards: This minigame is the only way to get liquids (apart from Ciokina) so get good at it! Ciokina's quite difficult. The grades of liquids that you can win are: -Grade 1 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 2 (Any difficulty.) -Grade 3 (Levels 2 and 3 only.) -Grade 4 (Level 3 only.) I like this minigame and if you're into heavy-ish music then you'll like the tune. By liking the heavy music, you'll get used to the tune and in turn will get better at the minigame. It's one of my top games and since it's the easiest way to get liquids, get better at it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Legal Stuff [L1] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I own all copyright over this Minigame Guide so if you see it anywhere (apart from the following sites) email me and let me know where it is at [email protected] This guide is currently allowed on: www.gamefaqs.com I did not copy any of this information off of anyone else's guides.
