Question for The Sims 2

I have been trying the cheats on my particular PSP for the Sims 2 using both instructions for press down the L1 + R1 then Square buttons and I am not seeing a Woo Hoo or purple face etc... I have done this several times and still am unsuccessful. Also, I tried pressing over and over again the Left and Right arrow keys and then square simultaneously and still get no result execept tired fingers after trying both examples. What am I doing wrong? I keep going insane without being able to complete any of my goals or get friends, roommates, etc...also I have less than $1000 so I cannot buy anything and cannot purchase perks. Is anyone else having this problem because from what I am reading on all of the posts for this particular cheat everyone else has been successful trying this. Please Help!!!!!

OK.When you are playin' the game press select and then press R two times.Select Buy Perks and then hold R+L and press Square.There will be a perk with a woohoo icon and it will say;This perk is only for DIRTY CHEATERS.And ninjas.Buy it for 0 simoleons.This won't work if you're early in the game I heard...

Hi, I had the exact same problem as you but I found that once you have opened up the "Buy Perks" selection screen you then press L1 first then R1 and then square. I found that this worked first time on my PSP.
