Question for Ratchet And Clank: Size Matters

In the first mission with clank you place the botts the second time across a void area but I can't get clank to get across there what am I doing wrong?

See the two red buttons on the wall simply throw the gadgebots so they hit the buttons and the buttons turn green voila a bridge appears
