Defeating a Khezu

I've been trying to kill a khezu for the Urgent Quest for the chief and I am using a dark scythe but I can not kill it, any thing helps!

Ah a Long Sword user? Me too! Ok the Khezu can be hard at 1st but I'm here to help! If it is not red then it's weekest to fire (red is weakest to water). If you do not have a good fire (or water) long sword go with raw or dragon. When fighting him DO NOT hit him too many times in a row or you will be hit with his shocking attack. Just hit 2 or 3 times and then side roll. You can also use triangle + O to back step. When he is enraged put your sword away and just run and heal. When you are attacking hit the sides. The main thing about this game is learning to read movements. Learn that and you will be fine.

The best way to kill khezu is with a bow. You're mobile enough to dodge his leaps and lightning attack, and you can keep your bow out the whole time and just keep striffing him. Hes weak against fire, unless this is red khezu in which case hes weak against water. Make yourself some decent bow armor and a good fire or water bow depending on the version of khezu and you'll find him on the ground in no time.

Try a iron katana gospel it work well on his side

Try using Wyvern Blade "Fall" made from upgrading the longsword bone to large bone then to bone katana "wolf" then to bone katana "shark" then make Wyvern Blade "Fall."

You suggest longsword too. Because that is the most safest painful type of weapon just hit his head 2 times with forward slash then triangle + circle to take a back step and maybe if you have a felyne comrade that may help too

for white khezu i always use hammer w/ fire attribute and water attribute for red khezu... used high thunder resist armor, and for me they are worthless opponent if im wearing high grade earplug armor.. lol!!

Here is the deal, dark scythe is a bad weapon, its affinity is -10, for weapon, use chick decapitator, made off from yian kut-ku, it have 10 affinity and good deal of dammage too, and never use a bad/ dull longsword to khezu, you better use great sword to this slow defender type wyvern

So if you are trying to defeat the Khezu I highley recomend gunlance or bow or something that can block. The normal gray khezus weakness is fire. So I would get the kut ku stave or somwthing that astribute fire.Oh and I think you should bring as much traps as you can and I think bring lg barrel bombs and sm barrel bombs.don't bring any sonic bombs or flash bombs they effect nothing on the khezu.

Okay youve got a darkscythe? Perfect now hit his head 2 times and drink hot drink.now shot him with an any fire weapon he is weak against fire now hit him 4 times kaboom he is dead!

One of the best ways to kill a khezu is to use an Kut-Ku Stave and go to a safe distance and just shot him on it's head

There are three variations of each monster in the game: normal, hard and expert. The normal variation of Khezu is weak to fire, with the Kut-Ku Stave being the easiest weapon to defeat him with, as all of its' attacks (save for a few) are physical. Just keep in mind that using a Bowgun or Bow can take about 20-25 minutes, so bring Power and Poison Coatings.

Just keep at it, recognize the monsters' attacks and you really should be fine. It took me a handful of tries myself.
