I would reccommend the blangonga armour fully upgraded with armour spheres as it gives 314 defence. And use pitfall traps and shock traps and flash bombs if you are really stuck on it.

I agree with thorn6699, the eager cleaver is a good start, but you need better armor. The traps and flashbombs will help tremendously.

As I tell most people about this game, it's all about learning movements. But other than that I can help too. Rolling is your friend. One of the 1st things you need to do is cut off his tail. Flash bomb + shock trap will help you do this. Attack the sides to keep from getting hit as much and when he runs at you roll or dive out the way then hit him a few times. The Tigrex hits fast and hard but his HP is kinda low. As a fellow Long Sword user I feel your hate to the Tigrex but just remember never attack too long or he will spin and take out a good bit of health.

Other than that a few things that might help. Mega Demondrugs and Mega Armorskins are very helpfull. That Eager Cleaver is a great weapon to use in that fight. Use your Spirt Combo wiselly. And bring 10 potions and 10 mega potions. Hopefully I helped you. Happy Hunting!

Using a hammer would be better I use Tigrex hammer all the time but you'll have to find one that is a good use and items you'll need are potions,mega potions, max potions, shack traps, trap tool to mix with genprey fangs to make more shock trap and flashbugs and bomb material to make more flash bombs when you run out also

I used Rathian armor set. and the eager cleaver. first put down a shock trap then cut off its tail because if you hit it you get damaged. Next put another shock trap down and put 2 Large Barrel Bomb next to its face. Then it will fly away i believe. If its at area 8 make it get its teeth stuck in the wall the hack and slash away at its legs. Once it starts limping it will go to the small cavern area 4 or 5. Hope this helps!!!!

the elder quest (absolute power) 5* is were u first encounter the tigrex.
- His stats for this quest r as follows
1.hit points 2400
2.weakness thunder 1 element= 0.52 raw damage
3.weak points head, neck and back (slashing)
4.strong points eveywere else
5.status effects that work: shock, pitfall, flash, paralyze (10 seconds), poison (240 hit points), sleep (a sleeping monster take 3x as much damage)
6.status effects that don't work: sonic
7.signal for capture: 1 hit puts him in rage, he limps
8.dropping a shiny item: gets his teeth stuck in a wall.
9.prefer weapon: something your comfortible with.

I have want on several different websites to varify weither the stats r true and tested and they have all turned out to be true.

my weapon was a eager cleaver and my armor was lvl 8 blango full i deafeted him simply by shock trap then placing 2 barrel bomb near his head and detonated them with a rock several times. (small barrel bomb= 20 damage), (small barrel bomb = 30 damage), (large barrel bomb= 80 damage) and (large barrel bomb = equals 150 damage)hope this helps.

Bow guns r the bes! Well you will need to fully upgrade it and have good ammo. Shoot from behind and let your cat get it's attention. Just shoot the heck out of it.
