Monster Hunter Freedom 2

The Ancestral Dragon

The Ancestral Dragon

I've asked this question on the Monster Hunter Freedom 2 forums, but apparently the forums are currently inactive.

I'm ready to take on the White Fatalis, but I need a very important question answered. I heard that since The Ancestral Dragon is a Special Quest the damage to the White Fatalis carries on to the next time you face it. (Ex: White Fatalis starts out with X amount of damage, I do Y amount of damage and fail the quest, the next time I go on the quest the White Fatalis starts out with X minus Y damage.) Is this true? I can deal a decent amount of damage when I do the quest, but I don't want to be wasting my time, money, and effort if the damage doesn't carry on.

The downloaded quests aren't supposed to carry on damage cause you load them off your memory card not the game itself I think.
