How do you kill an elder dragon without it fleeing, I need to kill Kushala Doara.

I used the Fire dragonsword (long sword) which has dragon element, needs lao Shan Horn, firestones and elder dragonblood to make
Also poison gets rid of his wind that swirls around him,so you could use a poison weapon. Just go for the head when he is on the ground and when he is flying throw a flash bomb at him to make crash to the ground.
You can also cut off his tail but I wouldn't worry about that till you are able to kill him
You can kill an elder dragon buy doing the quest over and over about 5-6 times and sooner or lader it will get to weak and just die after obout 30 hits with a good wepon like the Devil slicer.
Use devil slicer or true devil slicer and don't forget to use ballisters and cannonballs. Flash bombs come in handy too.
Just keep going, eventually you will do it as the damage you do to daora carries over to the next time you face him.
