Ok, monster bone + you can get in numerous places:

1.) the 4* guild quest: Storm of the yian kut ku. This quest is in the great arena, you have to kill as many kut ku's as you can. If you kill a certain no. Of kut ku's you get a number of monster bone +'s

2.) a 4* guild quest: you have to kill a blue kut ku in this mission. Sometimes you can get a monster bone + in the rewards, but it is very rare. Although this is only a 4*(HR 1) mission, I have obtained smlbluekutkuear's from this quest. 3.) Smlbluekutkuear's are usually found on any hard or g-ranked blue kut ku (HR 2 and up) If you go onto any guild gathering quest in the forest and hills, in area 7, there will be a small man there, the forest and hills elder. If you talk to him, he will trade a smlbluekutkuear for a monsterbone + (sometimes he will give you king scarab for it though)

Easy way to beat rathalos:
I find this easy with a sword and shield, so I will go along with this. A sword and shield weapon (SnS) with either a water or dragon element is recommended, as this is the rathalos' weakness. It doesn't not matter if you cannot get a water/dragon attribute weapon, as they are quite difficult to get at the biginning of the game. Anyway, you will need decent armour, I would recommend fire resistant and an armour value of about 50. bring along with you flash bombs and pitfall traps. Flash bombs you can get either get from a village mission, where you have to slay velocidrome, or by combining bomb material and flash bug. And pitfalls are made from net and trap tool. (net is made from ivy and spiderweb) these will help you get in extra hits on the rathalos, as both will make the rathalos easy to hit.
What to do:
When the rathalos throws a fire ball:
When he does this run to the side of him and do a short combo on his head, and then run away again
When the rathalos flys up into the air:
He will either throw a fireball at you from the sky, or try to poison you. When he does this, run and stand underneath him, and he will not be able to hit you. Just make sure you move before he comes back down and lands on you.
When the rathalos charges:
Move. Run out of the way and chase after him, if he is still on the ground when you get near him, attack him with a short combo. If he already stood up when you reach him, do not risk it, just wait for his mext move. Hint: I always stand with a wall to my back when fighting a rathalos, this basically means after he has charged, and fallen over, he is not out of reach, so I can attack him.
Tail swing:
Move out of the way, roll jump anything, it is annoying. If you cannot move, then block.
Bites towards his left leg:
Move out the way. If you are not an any danger of being bitten, then jump in and attack his right leg with a short combo.
Roars/enters rage mode:
Block this, because if you don't it will render you helpless, and he will do quite a bit of damage in rage mode.
Rage mode:
Either be safe or take a chance. In rage mode, a rathalos' speed and attack power is raised, so he is dangerous. You can either wait for him to clam down before attacking him again or continue to attck him normally if you are running out of time
Sleep and regain health:
I don't know if he does this in this quest, but if you see him limp off and fly off, run strait to area 5. The cave area. He will attemt to sleep to regain heath. You have to hit him to wake him up.

There may have been some things I have missed, but ya. ^.^
