You have to break the Rathaloses wings, simple as, it get easyer once you kill it for shit's n' giggles. So main thing to do is whack it's wings untill the tips break off, even then I think it's about 35% chance of getting it.
If you mean rathalos helm then you need wyvren marrow or rathalos tail I forget which but it's one of them

Anyway, I'm not too sure, but you may need an item called rathalos plate. This is a G-Class item and is fairly rare. I'm sorry, but I can't give you any info on how to make it.
